If my chaos lord has a charmed shield and he's in a chaos knight unit and my opponent fires a cannon at him and it hits him, can I ignore that hit before I take my look out sir?

I guess hed have to suffer the hit to ignore it. If someone else takes the hit, the Lord isnt hit...

It says under look out sir that it may be attempted. I would take this to mean that it doesn't have to be. Therefore, he could forgo the look out sir and attempt to discount the hit himself. But if he rolls that one, and you know he will, you would not be able to take a look out sir roll after. You have already claimed the hit for yourself.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
Unless you like to live really dangerously!
But seriously, take the LoS roll first.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
