Hello, i am new to these forms, so sorry ahead of time if some of these have been answered.
I used to plat back during 6th edition and recently gotten back in with my tomb kings and lizardmen armies. Going over the new rule book, the shooting rules have got me all confused, mainly the line of site stuff.
How exactly does it work now, I know it says that you use the models view on what he/she can shoot at. What im confused about is, lets say I have a bone giant behind a group of skeletons and i am facing a high elf army. if an archer unit can see the bone giant behind the group of skeles, they can shoot at it right, using most likely heavy cover?
Using a similar example, lets say a unit is on top of a hill and a ballista has LOS on it from across the battlefield, it would be able to fire on the unit on the hill with no penality unless there is of course a slight obstruction?
Finally on my list of clarifications is using the examples above, lets say I have a stegadon with a bolt thrower and in front of it is a unit of guys, friendly ones, since the crew of the bolt thrower on the back of the stegadon can get LOS on units, they can fire over my own units right?
You are correct on all the issues you raised. Except the giant won't get any cover if it is more than 50% exposed to the archers.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
Thanks! I figured I had it right, but was not for sure.
