Big Red Book pg: 107 The Battle Standard BearerThe Battle Standard Model par.2
Unlike normal standards, the battle standard is lost if the bearer is slain – other models cannot pick it up, even if they are in the same unit. As with other standard bearers, the battle standard bearer is automatically killed if he flees from combat – he dies on his feet, defending the precious standard to his last breath.
butHold Your Ground! Last sentence.
With this in mind, it’s always best to attempt to rally your Battle Standard Bearer before you take other Rally tests, if you can.
What happens to the BSB if its unit breaks and flees? The BRB is a bit contradicting. What do you guys think? (or should I refer to the 1st paragraph when the enemy bsb flees and to the second when mine takes flight? )
The BSB dies, if his unit breaks and flees.
In your, Hold Your Ground, quote, I believe they refer to the situation, where the unit which houses the BSB, has fled from a charge/because of Psychology. In this case, he dosent die, since he never saw combat, thus not giving him a chance to fight the enemy to his last breath.
realitycheque has the rights of it s/he ONLY dies if s/he if the unit which is containing it runs as a result of Loosing Combat. All other methods of cuasing panic are just there to tryand make people run off the board and do not kill BSB or unit standards
OK thanks a lot for clearing that out
