Ok boys and Girls here's on for you.
Reading p3 of the Rule book about stats the max stat is 10. No stats can go over this, right?
Then why have creatures, such as the Mountain Chimera, with 4d6 attacks? No where in the rulebook (as far as I can find) says that random attacks can go above the Max of ten. Have I missed something somewhere? or am I right in my thoughts?
Whilst I'm on the topic of Stats lets talk about stats of 0. If you have BS0 you can't shoot, if you have 0 attacks you can't attack. They are the ones they use as examples on p4. What about if your WS is reduced to 0? Can you also not attack? Seems fairly self explanitary to me but I'd just like to have some confirmation.
The reason I ask is because WS1 troops who attack models with the Mark of Nurgle are at -1 WS (no minium). Thus making them WS0 and, surely, unable to attack.
On the note of Mountain Chimeara's i'd like to refer to Dark Insanity, where a greater daemon gets 2d6+2 attacks on his profile. If there's a difference i do not see it. Maybe because this is part of an armybook and the chimeara is part of the BRB.
Anyway, in the FAQ it is mentioned that this can rise over 10, so it wouldn't be the first time stats rise over 10.
WS0: Ld0 is an autofail of any ldtests, perhaps ws0 is an automatic miss (instead of unable to attack)
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
seems logical that WS0 makes you unable to attack. For example, T0 kills you outright and ya Ld0 means auto fail that test.
Concerning max stat of 10 i dunno, does it say somewhere that random attacks or those things can get over 10?
The FAQ states that a characteristic can go over 10 if there is a random value.
'Q: When a model has a random characteristic value, 3D6 or 2D6+2 for example, can that characteristic go above 10? (p3)
A: yes, this is an exception to the usual maximum.'
There's nothing in the BRB saying Random Attacks that says it can go over 10. It just says that Random attacks use a dice roll to determine the attacks.
Digger: Cheers. Is the FAQ the Demons FAQ or the main Fantasy FAQ?
EDIT: Ashen you snuck in there. Thanks for that
I'd like to add that a characteristic of 0 in S, T or W kills a model, and that a characteristic of 0 WS means anyone attacking the model in CC auto-hits.
