    + and - to hit/to wound

    how do these modifers work.
eg. have a sword that id plus 1 to hit. lets say normally i hit on 4+ . Does the +1 to hit mean i hit on 3s or do i add 1 to each dice roll 4s becombe 5s.

does it work the same with to wound rolls ?

Its a bit strange, i give you that, but a +1 bonus, will improve your dice roll, so your 4+ will become a 3+.

GW makes a huge difference between +1 and 1+.
In the armour section this is quite clear. Some items give you a 1+ save. Others just improve your save with +1.

I hope this clarifies it a bit

It literally modifes the result on the die roll. Don't worry so much about what that means for what you need to hit or wound. That's where it can be confusing.

A Sword of Striking, for instance, just adds 1 to each roll. So any D6 of a 2 becomes a 3, a 3 becomes a 4, and so on. Then you check to see if you hit.

is that the same for - as well .

eg need 2 to hit roll lets say 5 dice and get 2 2 2 4 5 they become 0 0 0 2 3 so only two hits are scored

If that example were a -2, then yes...

It's hard to read that without any punctuation and such.
