hi i have played wh and wh 40k for years but i have only collected and painted i havent done much battle could someone just explain to me how to do a simple battle and how to take turns
Oy, that's a tall order! Try following these links that Calinarion posted in Tactics: Chances and Statistics. They'll give you and idea of how the turns run, but for all the roll values, you'd need access to a rulebook.
Oh dear, dear me! :blink: I shan't make such a grave error again! But I do wonder, alas, why the first persons to post these links, in L-O no less, were not chastened by the rod of Ulrick.
Whilst not the proper GW rules they are still rules to the game, DO NOT post things usch as these again. KU
Check out the "Game Reference Sheet" at the bottom of that page for a brief (VERY breif) breakdown of the rules. The magic one below it will also be helpful.
That should be allowed, as it is just a link to the GW website.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.
I'm a little bit suprised this thread didn't get locked actually, surely we can't (or won't) explain how to play the game giving the rules? You need to get the rulebook and read through it, go into a GW and ask for an intro game too, they will help you learn the rules. Then possibly find other people who play to get them to teach you.
Dude! Wrong way to go about asking!
You need to buy rulebook,
Study rools, Ask questions.
And Learn From your Answered questions.
After all thats what these forums are for.

Because I missed them first time round, but have now changed them. Oh and it's U-L-R-I-KOh dear, dear me! blink.gif I shan't make such a grave error again! But I do wonder, alas, why the first persons to post these links, in L-O no less, were not chastened by the rod of Ulrick.
I suppose this should have been closed, but as said;
* Step1 - Buy rulebook
* Step2 - Read Rules
* Step3 - Play with friends/other gamers (playing helps with learning)
* Step4 - Ask questions
* Step5 - If still not sure on certain parts of the game, ask more questions.
I deem this worthless, and well.. done.
