I keep seeing references to my skinks having to rolls 7's to hit in some cases.
How are they supposed to do this? And can you give me an example of when this is likely to happen? I thought the game only used d6's.
Please keep in mind that I haven't played my first game yet, and although I did read the rulebook (which I loaned to a friend and he subsequently 'lost' it, so you could give me page numbers, but it will take me longer to look it up) I don't remember mention of how to roll 7's to hit or wound.
If you look in the shooting section of the rule book then you will find it. I believe that if it is 7+ to hit you have to roll a 6 then a 4, 5 or 6. It's in there somewhere

Thanks, that helps.
For a while I thought it meant that if I needed 7+ to hit that I just couldn't hit!
But it was referenced so often that I began to realize it must be an obtainable number, otherwise it would just be called an impossible shot.
Now I know it just 'merely' unlikely! And that's better than nothing IMO!
Gingerninja is completely correct. However, if your Skinks need 7+ or worse to hit, then their poison doesn't work for those shots, they simply count as normal Strength 3 shots. You need at least 6+ or better for the poison rule to come into effect.

That was going to be my next question, so thanks for the heads up!Originally Posted by Tzeentch_Lord
Let me reiterate to see if I have this right:
If I need a 7+ I have to roll a 6, and then roll a 4? And if I need an 8+ I have to roll a 6 and then a 5 and if I need a 9 I have to roll a 6 followed by a 6?
And what causes me to need to roll this way, enemies with high armor saves?
Could you give me some examples?
Hitting on 7s
= Total of -3
Bs3 = 4 to hit
4+3 = 7+ to hit
