What does a 'Brace of Pistols' do and give your character?
As Far as I know it equips your character/model with two pistols and allows you to shoot twice as much, and I think it also allows you to make the pistols special CC attack twice.
Cheers. Also what does armour piercing do in closew combat. I lost my rulebook.
well how i read it is: if you have two pistols you get two strength 4, armour piercing atttacks in the first round of combat. You can only ever shoot once in the shooting phase though (according to the rulebook)

I disagree with it shoots "twice" as far, because I've never seen a pistol shoot 16 inches. But on the other hand I agree with it gives you an extra attack!Originally Posted by Bobby_Wokkerfella

I believe you can use it as a ranged weapon (forgets statistics) and you may use it in the first round of combat with its given statistics on top of all of your normal attacks. Armour Piercing means you subtract 1 from the enemies armour when they roll for armour saves (i.e. a 4+ save becomes a 5+ and so on.)
You may only ever fire one missile weapon per turn (unless you have a rule saying otherwise), so a brace of pistols don't really have much effect in shooting - except to give a single S4 AP shot per turn. But in combat it's different. A brace of pistols will give the character one S4 AP extra attack for the two weapons (pistols count as HWs in combat) but if two pistols are held then all the models attacks count as being S4 AP in the first turn of combat only. But if only one is held then the extra attack gained from the extra 'HW' is the pistol shot.
