Does the high elf repeater bolt thrower hit characters/heroes that are in a unit if it shoots the single shot in a straight line at the unit, if the bolt thrower is aimed at the hero?
Yes it does, although the unit can attempt a 'Look Out, Sir!' roll to push him out of the way. If the unit consists of at least 5 other models, then one other model in the unit can take the hit for the character on a roll of 2+ on a D6. If a 1 is rolled, the character is hit as normal. But to get rank penetrating, you have to kill the model, so if he ward saves the shot or if you don't do enough wounds, anyone behind him is safe. That's why the Blessing for Bretonnians is annoying.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.
