Alright, I'm in the process of painting my Lizardmen list. And I just thought of this:
Do we have to obey WYSIWYG and paint a Sacred Spawning's color on the Saurus' heads?
I ask because in all the games I've played, I swap my list around. I don't have a standard "this block of Saurus is ALWAYS this spawning" style of play. And there are no LM players in my area to question on the topic. On top of that, my LM's color scheme isn't the standard blue. On Saurus' heads and scales, they have Dark Angel green. What if I wanted to give the Tzunki spawning to them? This is why I wonder about GW's policy of sacred spawning representation.

Just tell your opponent what each unit has before the game starts, deployment even. I don't think GW has ever forced anyone to paint exactly how they want, even for WYSIWYG. Even in tournaments you should be fine with just telling your opponent what unit has what. In friendly games, only jerks will actually say anything. The only thing I can think of is to have a way to tell units with spawnings apart from units without or other spawnings.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.
