I'm not quite sure if this thread belongs here but, why dont you get an armour save for killing blow. Lets take 2 examples: you're a dwarven general, you are as armoured as a tank, and u decide, hey I don't like elves all to much let me fight an elven guy that has killing blow. So, this elf has killing blow, and hits the dwarf on the neck, where he could chop his head off. Why wouln't the dwarf have armour on the neck, after all, knights had armour on the neck. Second example, this dwarven genral's son decides to avenge his fathers death, however, the elf has killing blow, and attempts to put a sword through his heart, why wouldn't he have armour at the heart? Well that is my question, why wouldn't they have an armour save?
Mr. Burns: Why is everyone being so insolent today?
Smithers: Well sir, it is christmas...
Mr. Burns: I'll decide when its christmas!
Well it would be unfair if more heavily models got armour saves and less armoured ones didn't.
Don't you think?
By day he fought with sword and shield.....
By night he fought with pen and parchment.....

Uhm, I suppose it's because killing blows don't always land on the neck or pierce the heart. Killing blow is one of two things: a masterfully placed blow or a magically enhanced blow. In the first case, the blow would pierce dramatically through a helmet's eye slit or in an protected portion of the upper thigh. Wherever it lands, my point is that the blow lands with such accuracy that the armor is irrelevant. That's why it's killing blow. Moving on to the second case, a magically enhanced blow, it goes without saying that magical forces can bypass armor.Originally Posted by The Pink Panther
In terms of the game system, killing blow ignores armor save and slays the victim in one strike. It's similar to weapons that ignore armor saves, except that it only lands on a 6+ or occasionally a 5+.
Ward saves are still allowed against killing blows.
Face it, buddy. That dwarf's a goner. :p
