About the army restrictions, if i am making a 2000pt army, and it ends up at say 1997 pts, i would treat it as if it was a 3000pt army with regards to the army list restrictions? IE the number of special, rare, and core units, and characters.
the army restrictions are based on the points limit for the game you are playing not how much your army actually costs. well atleast thats what i think it is some other opinions please?

Yeah, I checked a army book it says you choose a points limit, and can have upto that much. But if your below eg 1998 pts it still counts as 2000 pts. So you would use the restictions for the 2000 pts, not 1000 or 3000 etc. Hope this cleared it up.
Yeah, thats what I thought =) . Just wanted to make sure.
What just base it on the battle rules decided beforehand?
Like when playing 2000 points in a tournement and you use say 1996 points then just count it as a 2000 points?
Should you still apply the same when say you and your opponent choose to go over 2000 with say 50 points?
Just stay with the standard rules for 2000 points?
Dragonslayero I would say yeah stay at 2000 pts. But you shouldn't actually allow anyone to go over by that much, but if you do the other player should be allowed to match it IMO. But you agree on the pts and you can spend up to that amount but not over it, so you would use the agreed pts chart.
it could also depend on if the game was a special kind of scenario, for example me and a friend (whom i play with regularly) played a pitched battle at 2000 pts were we still used the points limitations for 2000 pts, except for my beasts of chaos who got 2500pts because they had ambushed his army as they were travelling.
I understand that.Dragonslayero I would say yeah stay at 2000 pts. But you shouldn't actually allow anyone to go over by that much, but if you do the other player should be allowed to match it IMO. I just mentined the 50 points as sort of an example.
Naturally some people will go over with a max of 10 points, but you still got to play with the 2000 points restrictions.
Slayers right though usually you can't get an absoloutely 100% 2000pts army list most of the time you get over or under 200pts by 3 or 4 pts so don't let it bother you.
