Selecting a Target (Shooting & Bolt Thrower)

This is really basic stuff, however my cold medicine addled head is not finding it in the book. Are there any restrictions, such as you must target the closest target which is visible and legal, when selecting a target for shooting? I could have sworn that there was such a rule for WFB, but I can't find anything. I may simply be confusing Mordheim and Necromunda rules. Don't worry about Independant Characters, as I can find the rules for them. I'm just not having any luck with the general rules.

Also, while I'm at it, bolt throwers make no mention of any special rules for targetting. As such, they are bound by the same restrictions as regular shooting correct? For example, if missile infantry must target the closest enemy when shooting, bolt throwers must do the same. If there is no such closest target restriction, then this really isn't much of a question.

Your mind is playing tricks on you.

Not in this game, I'm afraid.

Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.
