Hi, just began playing WHFB a couple of weeks ago, gotta say it's loads different from 40k and much more detailed! but the more detailed the harder it gets to understand, well thats my theory anyway. Just wanted to know how CR works, can't get my head around it for some reason. Your help would be appreciated, thanks!
Yeah WHFB is a hell of a lot more complex than 40k.. Thats a good thing lol.
Look in the rulebook for the page in modifiers for combat once the fighting is done, page 73. Add up all the modifiers for both sides, to see which side comes out ahead. Then take the difference between the two, and subtract that from the losing sides leadership for them to take a test or flee.
For example, if there are no kills on either side from 20 models ranked up against 1 model then the large unit has 3 ranks, and outnumber so a resolution of 4. The single model has nothing, so he needs to take a leadership test at 4 less than his normal leadership or flee.
yes but dont forget there are other rules that can change this normal routine... for example.
If a fear causing unit wins combat and outnumbers their opponent then their opponent auto flees with no break test allowed. Also there is the "stubborn" rule which means a unit will NEVER have to deduct numbers by how much combat resolution they lost by, they always take it at their regular LD.
The best thing to do would be (as strewart said) look through the rule book at all the pyschologies and how the combat resolution works and you'll be just fine
What you are we once were. What we are you will become!!!
thanks guys you've been helpful
