i didnt want to post this in the rules development because there are mostly 40k players .
Ok , so i have been thinking about making my own warhammer type game for a while . now I have made a try . the game is going to be called something like “magic massacre” :
In magic massacre the points , when making an army , list is like warhammer with the only exception that models also have “model points” , it’s the US , and you will also have a specific number of model points to use as well as army points . each player will get 100 Army Pts. And 13 Model pts. Each .
all models are treated as single units (a bit like skirmish) . the CC are worked out as normally with the exception that there is no CR and you dont have to flee .
Magic Massacre is a game full of magic, and therefore it just has to include a ton of magic items . in every piece of terrain , there is a hidden magic item , but it is not always you can find them , so too show this , the player who has a model in contact to a terrain piece (could be anything . woods , houses , rocks and swamps) , roll 3 d6 . on a roll of 16 + the model in base contact with the terrain piece will get a magic item . then the player owning the model will have to roll another 2 d6 on the chart below
On a roll of 1-4 , the model will receive : A rusted hand weapon
On a roll of 5 , the model will receive : A biting blade
On a roll of 6 , the model will receive : A sword of battle
On a roll of 7 , the model will receive : A sword of might
On a roll of 8 , the model will receive : A striking sword
On a roll of 9 , the model will receive : A enchanted shield
On a roll of 10 , the model will receive : A talisman of protection
On a roll of 11 , the model will receive : A armour of power
On a roll of 12 , the model will receive : Two berserker swords
Rusted hand weapon : cant be used for anything
Armour of power : the bearer will receive +1 AS , and +1 S
Berserker swords : +2 attacks
The model whom found an item can only hold it himself . it can be given to a friendly model in base contact with the bearer at any time . a model cannot have more than one magic item.
I will post the rest of the rules later .

i think it sounds a little shabby..
-no combat resolution means that units who are inferior at fighting to their opponent, have no chance of beating them with outnumbering.. and no chance of winning the fighting either means its over before it has begun..
-the idea of characters having time to search through peices of terrain during the heat of battle is just silly.. and that there are items like beserker swords etc in every building, forest, river etc is even sillier.
I also dont fully understand the idea behind having two different points costs.

not a bad idea, however , there has to be a otn of terrain. Rolloing 16+ on 3d6 is very limited and hard. I tihnk the only combos are (664,665,666,556,565) IIRC. That is like 5 rolls that give you 16+ so maybe either lower the number to liek 14+ or even add an extra dice that the char gets to roll somehow...

ok , i will include the CR , but as VAPORgun said , there is a very little chance of finding anything . the 2 point costs is to make it harder to make an army list . you have to think much more about what you buy .Originally Posted by Manu_Forti
what do you say about you can use for 200 pts and 15 model points ? the model costs as many model points equal to its unit strength . in youre army you can include 2-3 characters , 5+ core models , 2 special models or 1 special model and 1 rare model .
