Erm, not really. We're not allowed to reprint pages of rules here on LO due to copyright reasons, and unlike Privateer press, GW doesn't give out free quickstart rules sheets. The only options you've got are to a) have a friend lend you their rulebook (or better yet, show you how to play), or b) go into a GW store and get the staff to show you.

Yeah, we can't give you enough rules to play out a game. Although even if we could, I don't think you would get a good feel for fantasy only using two squads. It would help you get to know the rules system a bit but not really understand the game. So I will second what Tzeentch Lord said and suggest getting a friend or staff memeber to play a small game with you or set one up between you and the friend wanting to learn.

We could use metaphors for everything, I've seen it done when explaining battlesuit weapons costs and options to someone XD

A good option for you guys would be to buy the boxed game. You get two squads plus all the stuff you need like dice, templates etc. And you get an A5 size basic rule book. Then in September when the new revision of the rules come out. you can send in the A5 book and theyll send you a new one for free! (keep the receipt). that way you can start gaming now without wasting money on a rule book that will be outdated soon.

Unless of coarse you arent interested in the 2 army types in the box game.. i think its empire & orks? not sure.

The 'battle of skull pass' box that comes out with the new rules will have an A5 basic rule book (the new rules), plus some dwarves & goblins. & the dice etc. if those armies interest you more..

Just some things for you to consider

    cheers

Yes, we can't reprint rules here. Evidently, GW has issues with that.

However, if you want to play a game that small, you can get a few basics here, at the GW site on warbands.

Otherwise, borrow a rulebook from someone or get somebody to walk you through a basic game. But I wouldn't buy a rulebook since the new one comes out soon, unless you can find one really cheap.

You can get the 6th edition rulebook (used) for 5 or 6 US dollars on eBay plus shipping.

I heard GW were doing a trade in thing. Whereas if you buy the 6th ed rulebook now you can trade it in for free when the 7th ed rules come out.

Not sure if its true though

I doubt GW believes in trade-ins, or anything like that.

PS: some armies like Tomb Kings are completely and utterly nerfed in warbands. They need 2000+ points to operate properly.

The deal is that you buy the boxed set for 6th ed. and get a certificate for a 7th ed. rulebook.
