A while back, one of the guys at my local GW store told me that GW had it the works a set of city fight/siege rules that would be released as a supplement and that were FB's answer to 40k's "cities of death." It has been some months now and after not seeing anything about this in WD i was beginning to wonder if that employee may have been high when he told me this information. I was really looking forward to this - today i went to GW and asked the manager and he looked at me as if i were from france. He tried to sell me some other junk, mentioned the new campaign tiles and tried to get me started in necromuna or some other such crap. Anyways, has anyone ever heard of this mystery city fight/siege rules supplement or was it just a ploy to try to sell me the siege fortress?
I've not heard anything about such a supplement, although it is possible they're working on something like that. The current edition of Warhammer doesn't have any Siege or Skirmish rules in the back of it, but the previous edition does. I'd imagine the Siege rules from the previous edition could still be used with minimal tweaking if you wanted to play a siege.
"Peace, through superior firepower."
I'm at work, so can't quote the issue number, but I do recall a WD where there was a battle report of Dark Elves attacking a Bretonnian castle, and Wood Elves coming to the Brets' aid. It didn't include a full ruleset, but did mention a few little rules they used to make the castle act like a castle.
I can't help you with anything to do with official Siege rules though.
