Well i decided to finally start a gang when another club member began to play,
Not sure which gang to play yet....
anyway i was reading around on the boards and people were talkin about normal gangs, in that you had to level em up all by yourself and somthing about skills
whilst i gathered from the rules thats how you always do it......
and that there was a way to get skills that you wanted? again my rule reading was that you always had to roll to see which skill on the table you got..... eg you choose muscle and then roll.

All in all, ima little confused :O
help would be good

cheers Kuja

How it works is like this: Once a member of your gang gains enough experience points to go up a level you roll 2D6 and look up the result on the 'level up' chart. This result can give you a stat increases or the ability to roll on a skill table.

If the result of the 2D6 means you gain a skill during the 'level up' you may then choose a skill table (not the actual skill, just the table) upon which to roll a further dice. Which skill tables you can choose varies from gang to gang and can be affected by the outcome of the first 2D6.

Once you have selected which skill table you want, you roll the dice and get the skill the dice comes up with. As such you can choose which type of skill you get, but not the actual skill itself. This may sound a little silly at first, but you soon come to realise it is the source of much of the characterful nature of Necromunda :).

So, to sum up:

- You gain enough XP to level up
- You roll 2D6 on the 'level up' table
- If the 2D6 result allows you to gain a skill, you select which skill table to roll on
- You then roll on this table to determine which skill you get.

Hope this clears things up a bit buddy:).

Cheers,
Rich.
