View Full Version : Hierophant finished pics Gareth August 6th, 2007, 15:44 Firstly, sorry for the big pics, but it is a big model.* :D
So happy to get it done. I started it on March 25th. So over 4 months later its finally done... Such a large piece didn't suit me. it was a good learning experience, but not something i'd like to do again.
I'm looking forward to doing the base soon, i think that'll be the most enjoyable part!
Anyway, enough... heres the pics...

tsk, tsk, Gareth. Images a maximum of 700px wide please, cheers! - KU Nubblet August 6th, 2007, 16:00 dude thats awesome man, really good job :D *rep* i love those green insignias you put on its back, it really adds to it. Killswitch August 6th, 2007, 16:02 Unless you want a broken bug, you should not base it. The legs at too thin and break when glued to the base. You can do this, but you need support beams to help hold it up, and those are ugly.
-J Bladeweaver August 6th, 2007, 16:22 Amazing. 11 out of 10 hands down. Fantastic Job. Gareth August 6th, 2007, 16:25 Unless you want a broken bug, you should not base it. serious pinnage going on. It will be free standing on the base, not glued in the slightest.
I marked the legs since pinning it on a board, and they haven't moved or done the splits at all. So its solid. Killswitch August 6th, 2007, 16:55 Nice. Your not stupid like the kid who bought one at the local GW. He put his pon the base and it snapped. I couldn't help but laugh. Anyway, looks amazing Gareth.
-J Leech August 6th, 2007, 22:06 That is an excellent looking model. It must be very hard to finish anything that size. The paint job works well though and give us more to see, aside from a big model to gawp at. Giant Mutant Chaos Lord August 7th, 2007, 09:36 this is a peice to be proud of. well done, great job Jon Quixote August 7th, 2007, 10:01 Holy Guacamole.
That's some great work, Gareth.
Any chance of a full horde pic with the Heirophant looming over the back?
Don't go out of your way, only on the off chance. Thanks.
Have you play tested him yet? Gareth August 7th, 2007, 10:14 Holy Guacamole.

Hi mate,
I have 10 more nids to paint before i can do the army shot. I playtested it myself, but its still to face a proper opponent. In the games i tried it out it did very well. Cheredanine August 7th, 2007, 10:15 I think I have seen this somewhere before :)
very very nice work G mate, and only what? 4 months effort!! Jon Quixote August 7th, 2007, 10:54 Hi mate,

Well, I eagerly await that moment.
That's got to be something to be reckoned with. The sheer visual impact will put even the best gamer on the wrong foot, I'd say.
On a practical note, how do you hold/move/transport that monster?
Is there a 'best' place to hold?
Does he have a case to himself?
Also,
Will the base be dioramic in style?
Sorry for all the questions, but you rarely get to see a jobbie like this, I'm really interested. Gareth August 7th, 2007, 11:35 Well, I eagerly await that moment.

WIP sneak peak base pics. Its mod roc ontop polysterene shapes. The holes will be broodnests with gaunts poking out, the dread will get some damage added, and to the left (not clear) will be a spawning vat.

Regarding holding, i've just finished it so its not left the flat yet. I carry it by grabbing the top vent. I'm planning on mocking up a doublewalled cardboard box with specifically cut foam. Likely to rest on its back while in transit. Cheredanine August 7th, 2007, 11:40 can provide a wardrobe handle for carrying, easy to attack with 2 screws mate :) Jon Quixote August 7th, 2007, 11:49 WIP sneak peak base pics.
