More belongs in the Painting forum. :) I'll move it on over there for you.

Looks like a good scheme, though! The blue's a bit shiny for my taste, but overall not bad at all.

It is a very clean model. Something I cant do well .
I think it is good, and will look very nice with a whole squad.

It's a nice looking model - what I call "Tabletop Fabulous." I like the stark contrast of the color scheme, which is brought out well by the deep blue shadows.

I would, however, perhaps give the bone color a wash with a brown or dark yellow to give it some depth. It's looking kind of flat. The shininess of the blue should be eliminated by a good matte varnish.

Nicely done, overall.

Solid job. This is pretty impressive for a first time. There's not a whole lot I can say in the way of constructive criticism, except to maybe put some dark brown or black lines around adjacent plates on the armor and gun. This can easily be achieved by a brown ink wash to pick out the cracks. After the wash, simply re-paint the base color, making sure not to cover up the brown in places where it's supposed to be.

Keep up the good work!

Very nice. What did you use for the bone colour?

for the bone colour i used dark flesh then over that two watered down coats of bleached bone. lol its funny that people should think the shinyness is a bad thing. thats what i intended to contrast the bone and give more depth to the model. one thing that has been annoying me though. can anyone think of any good colours for the eyes? or should leave them alone?

It looks nice but the blue is a bit splotchy for my tastes. It looks like you inked over a white undercoat with blue ink. But seriously, the blue, especially on the back of the mini, does not look even. A few more thin coats of blue would have evened this paint out.

Go with green eyes...i think that would pop. As for the actual scheme, its good. I dont know why you think it could be bad, ive seen people with much worse, and think its amazing...I do find the pants a bit too shiney, but thats ok its not that bad. As for the white, i do think it could use a bit more shading, but that takes practice to do that.

I tend to use complimentary colors for the eyes of my model; as long as you use the compliment sparingly it looks really cool and makes those small parts stand out. Blue's compliment is orange, so I'd recommend using orange for the eyes and gems (although you already have red gems, so red eyes would also look pretty slick). IMO, whatever color you use, match the gems and eyes.

I would like to see some highlighting and shading on your guardian.

I think either the bone or the blue should be a little darker, probably the blue as the bone looks awsome.

good job

I don't think I can add anything more helpful that someone hasn't already said, other than don't forget mold lines. I refer to the out-stretched arm.
It prolly doesn't look that bad IRL but photos do seem to emphasise flaws.

Good work and good luck.

spot colour the eyes,. red I suspect

generally - very neat.

specific thoughts:

you appear to be doing some of the armour plates teh same colour as the undersuit, which seems odd to those who know eldar

The blue appears to be an ink wash ocer the top of a basic blue, would like more highlighting

Bone is nice finish

Very nice job! I really like the contrast, will look good on a large force. Though, i think you could do more with the base, it really does look plain :w00t:

I like it. I agree that the shiny blue actually looks kinda cool, but may be distracting. I would, however, deepen the whites, as they do look flat (as others have said).

Solid mini.
