Its taken 12 months. 3 pots of ice blue paint. 2 pots of warlock purple and 3 tins of primer. I dont even want to think of how much money! But finally my very first 40k army is completed. Ill probably add a few more bits here and there as i go along but for now, the birthing vats are stilled, and the hive fleet hibernates as it passes through space, ready to devour the first planet (or craftworld) it comes into contact with.

Its been hard! Ive got stressed, sickened and almost quit twice! But its also been fun and rewarding. Ive learned alot on this journey and hope my next projects (eldar and pre heresy) will be equally as challenging.

Buggyfex also makes his debut revealing here! Finished at last! (ok, ive one or two bits on the base to do but give me a break!)

So, without further ado, here it is, hive fleet wyvern.
1 Flyrant, 1 broodlord, 4 warriors, 1 lictor, 1 devilfex, 1 red terror, 20 genestealers, 20 hormagaunts, 10 termagaunts, 24 spinegaunts, 3 ripper swarms, 2 sniperfex's, 2 zoanthropes, 2 biovores, 6 spore mines, 3 raveners, 15 gargoyles and of course, 1 Buggyfex.

That's a very cool colour scheme that has been executed really well. Great work.

two words. bad. a$$. Very impressed you were able to finish a tyranid army to begin with. The fact that you painted them well earns you even more respect (i'm in the middle of painting mine so I know what you went through) The buggyfex/ uber scorpion fex is a bit overdone but i still love it. Seems like you put every single extra piece of all the sprues on that guy :)

great work and congrats

Nice work Mace! I admit, I do find the colours a bit much but they work surprisingly well with one another. Good job there. My only gripe is the Buggyfex. The brown banding on the tail(?) between the large green sections looks a little bit like metallic to my eyes. It wasn't as clear to me. I would have thought about making it more, umm.. organic. But that's just me. Nice work!

Congratulations on a job well done. You should take a vacation  . The overall color scheme works well (flows well too). I wouldn't have thought it, if you had only shown me a single model.

Very nice color scheme, very uniform (more than what anyone can say for my guardsmen), makes them look very much like opinionless bugs devoted to the Hive Mind. Have you played with them yet? After that much time, money and paint devoted to that I wouldn't take it out of the house lol. If you do play, good luck

Dear All Concerned,

Well macewind! I have got to hand it to you. This army looks fantastic!

I hope that someday I may get my army done to that level! Great work, and I love the Buggy-Fex!

I have to say im more a fan of the "natural" colored nids but your strong fantastic contrast really works well. congrats.
