hey guys, i wanted to paint a standard ultramarine army, but i want it to look really good. does anybody know what colors i should use to make the models look really good? the suggestions in the codex only shows like 2 colors for the different sections, but im pretty sure theres more. thanks

i would paint up from a darker blue after your undercoat. Ultramarine mixed with regal and shade up with thin layers then highlight ;)
theres quite a few posts on painting ultramarines on the forum, i found this in one of them :

I would start from regal, build it up and blend to ultramarines, then build it up and blend to about 50/50 white to ultra.

quick but very effective way:
1. paint the marines ultramarines blue, or if you want a darker shade with a ultramarines/regal mix
2. blackline the deepest areas (armour joints etc) with diluted black ink. this step is a bit tricky - don`t overdo it
3. highlight all the edges with ultramarines/space wolves grey mix. where possible use the edge of the brush to get nice, straight lines
4. further highlight edges with space wolves grey with just a drop of ultramarines. in this step gently highlight only the edges that woudl catch the most light.
