I was just wondering how long your guys games take you to play. I'm about to play my first 3rd edition game over break, finally! Just wondering how long say a 1500 or 2000 pt game or so would take to play. Thanks

Just wondering how long say a 1500 or 2000 pt game or so would take to play. Thanks Ravensdark March 12th, 2004, 04:45 Now thats a good question. Of course their is the obvious thing to consider such as number of turns. I mean for me and my mates it usually takes the better part of a day to play about a 3000 point game so around seven hours. However this is due to numerous tea/cigarette/TV/Food/alcohol breaks so as you can guess we take our sweet time. No rush. As for your question i'm not sure as we very rarely simply play the game straight with no interruptions. At a pinch for a 1500 point game maybe 2 hours. Still thats one hell of an estimate. Dragonslayero March 12th, 2004, 11:28 Well the game usually depends on who your facing... and of course it that guy/girl is well into the rules. So a usual game will for me maybe last 2-3 hours.... and that ofcourse is very dependent on beerbreaks and so on... Khryseis March 12th, 2004, 12:53 The group I play with has been playing together for a couple of years now - I'm the newcomer, with around eleven months and a bit of experience now. We have a fair idea of how the rules go, and have formed our own house-rules to cover some situations when there's a problem... but nevertheless the fastest I can recall a game of 1500 pts going was about 80-90 minutes, and that was going all-out. We even kept from raiding the chocolate Tiny Teddies until it wasn't our turn. :D -Khryseis BorninDarkness March 12th, 2004, 13:04 I've no idea, usually a couple of hours (3-4 or so) for 2000 points games. A lot of time goes into the deployment and the movement phases of my opponent, who plays IG and can take forever to decide where he's gonna put down that infantry squad... Salamander March 12th, 2004, 16:08 damn those marine players. they ahve to move 4 rhinos and the the occaisonal LR's. i renenber those daysm when i coudl take anp while my friend was in the movement phase wiht his orks. me and my buds usually take about a good 6 hours to play. thats because each of us (about 6) ahve 1500 points on the board Asmodeus March 13th, 2004, 07:00 With about a 2000 point game, only about 3 hours, once the game is started. We generally can blow through them pretty fast. :) Rex March 13th, 2004, 13:47 Most of our 1500 pts games take about 90 minutes. Two fast armies however, played by two skilled players (yes, us ;) ) can take down to 45 minutes. If facing a 'slow' player that needs to check rules etc... i'll say 3 hours. Onion March 13th, 2004, 21:37 I usually play 2v2 matches, 1000 pts each, and it takes a few hours I say. There's alot of socializing going on, though. Parallax March 13th, 2004, 21:47 Mine usually take around an 1 hour for a 500 point game. I havent played any hire point games in a long time so i dont remeber. Zero-Peon March 13th, 2004, 22:06 I take about 2 hours for a 1500 point game of fantasy. Any longer and were left on our own in the dark at our game club. Exterminatus-Squeebie March 13th, 2004, 22:14 i usually find that 1000pts will take about an hour, or 1.5Kpts 1 and 1/2 hours, then 2000pts about 2 hours, and so on and so forth it can depend on the armies me and my opponents use though Asdrubal Vect March 14th, 2004, 02:20 well in the 40k in 40min we get a 750 game done in 1hour and 30 minits isitused March 14th, 2004, 02:54 I try to keep my games within the 2-hour time limited used during rogue traitor, and grand turny games. Normally when i am playing at my house we take 3 hours to play an 1850 game. -GM Isaaru March 19th, 2004, 12:08 I allways play six turn, with a lot of laughs it can take 2,5 hours. :P Shiver March 19th, 2004, 22:04 vs power gamers, 2 hours tops. One of us is always past the breaking point by turn 4. vs friends, 4-6 hours. |
