These pics were taken by Sylass of Warseer at the Spiel 2007 Gaming Fare. It looks like Manfred's Nightmare is a montrous mount acording to these pics as there is a model on foot as well as on the nightmare. However it could be that Manfred might get the option to be on foot or on a nightmare.

Hrm...congrats Jared you got me back into Vamps lol.

Wow...I can honestly say that is one of the best models GW has produced.

I can't stand that head for Mannfred and the model on foot looks badly proportioned. Not one of the best things I've seen recently.

I like the idea, and a lot about the mount, but

I can't stand that head for Mannfred and the model on foot looks badly proportioned.

I have to agree.

Yeah, I think everyone's been right about that head - it does look a bit... odd.

Not sure about that giant scythe thing either - it too looks a bit out of proportion.

But are those skulls flying out of his cloak? Yay, Flying Skulls!

I wonder if they do anything (special rules?) or are just there for looks...

Yeah the head is pretty bad. However the Scythe thing is actually "the Black Staff.

I think they decided to completely re-do him. I do like the new look and general design, Vampires were horribly unimaginative. The previous Von carstiens were awful. Infact most of the Vampires lacked character though I liked the Necrarchs.

I think it is true that the proportions look like they have problems. However things such as the design of his steed and some more daring efforts and sculpting seem to of paid off. The Hammer horror look they had was cool in a nostalgic way but it was going nowhere. Still though we have see if they will keep it up with the rest of the Vampire counts.:?

Very nice. The foot model appears to have some proportion issues, true. I'm not willing to discount that as a trick of the lighting at this point, but I may be wrong.

I really hope the rest of the VC line gets similar treatment - anything to make them less cartoony would be great. Thanks JvK!

he looks more like a blood dragon to me, but he is very cool either way!

The good thing about head is that they're easy to chop off. ;) The new Manny is going to make a great base for a converted Vamp General.

That horse would be great to use as a steed for a 40k chaos lord. It looks really cool.

Manny on foot would make a mighty fine Chaos Lord with the odd conversion or two ^_^

EDIT: Whoops, some already said that!

Anyone else think those skulls might be that one bloodline power from the Von Carstein army list. I think it was spectral attendants, I remember it being a very nice power.
