View Full Version : Small rumour regarding releases next year. Jared van Kell October 27th, 2007, 02:01 Grimtuff posted this on Warseer.
Right, this warrants it's own thread so it does not get buried in the morass that is the current thread.
My mate was up at head office last week and got a look at the release list for next year. (up till June IIRC) On it was the Daemon stuff scheduled for an April release.
Little confirmation:
There are two Daemon books coming out simultaneously. One for 40k, one for WHFB. It is NOT one book.
Also, he saw the sprues for Daemonic Heralds and (i'm loving this one) Unbound Defilers
The Unbound Defiler kit is an upgrade sprue for the current Defiler, making it look a lot like some of the "fleshy Doom-esq" ones you see on CMON etc. from time to time.
Also, in the same month as the Foundation inks are released. GW is releasing an Airbrush. It is made to look like a Hand Flamer apparently.
All for now.
The unbound Defiler sounds cool. JvK 8Y Cyric the Mad October 27th, 2007, 02:26 Also, in the same month as the Foundation inks are released. GW is releasing an Airbrush. It is made to look like a Hand Flamer apparently.
Now THAT sounds sweet. Sounds like something I'd buy even if I don't really need it.
The rest of the rumor has me mildly curious, but the hand flamer airbrush makes me giggle. Tekore October 27th, 2007, 02:58 Jerry, you had me at Foundation Inks.
Tekore Maxy_the_con October 27th, 2007, 03:19 air brush? wow thats got to be good for the tank players
Max Soul Reap October 27th, 2007, 03:19 Great. If this is true then it'll save me some money on buying the Daemon book. Also the unbound defiler sounds pretty sweet too! With all the new chaos models, and now this I've got to save my money, no more vacations for me.:ballon: The Paint Monkey October 27th, 2007, 03:20 Jerry, you had me at Foundation Inks.
Tekore
I'm kinda curious about what these are. Inks that work as a basecoat? Odd. Inks with really strong pigment? Already got them. Any ideas? I wish I knew as well, I just love the Foundation Paints and got all excited.

100% valid.
I'm guessing the hand-flamer will cost a billion dollars. mpdscott October 27th, 2007, 04:23 I'm guessing the hand-flamer will cost a billion dollars.
Only if you can get it to work with Promethium :D Jared van Kell October 27th, 2007, 09:47 Only if you can get it to work with Promethium :D
Now that would be entertaining. :rofl Adrian MalSeraph October 27th, 2007, 09:53 I'm gonna have to get that airbrush, simply due to the sheer number of Seraphim I tend to field in my Sisters of Battle armie.
BURN HERETIC SCUM!!! *paints mini* ArchonFarseerGuy October 27th, 2007, 10:57 I must say, the concept of Foundation Inks seems a little odd. The Paints never cut it for me, so I can't see myself buying any inks either.

Great. MORE Chaos. I should get to work on a WHFB Knightly Order: The Grey Knights. It will be interesting to say the least and I've been thinking of something like this for a long time.
GW is releasing an Airbrush
I want one. I don't care HOW impractical or unwieldy at may be, I just want one.
Cool finds vK.
-AFG Codicier_Korsai October 28th, 2007, 06:26 Foundation inks? That seems... unnecessary, the current GW inks do a great job and I don't see how could they improve them, thicker inks would be kinda pointless.
An airbrush sounds good, and it would be dead easy to make it into a real flamer; just add an igniter to the barrel and load in some sort of flammable gas. Though I wouldn't recommend doing such a thing, as there is a chance the tank could explode in your face like an angry plasma gun, except ones face and hands do not have an armour save. XD! But seriously, use your airbrush to paint the worthy, not to burn heretics! ArchonFarseerGuy October 28th, 2007, 08:08 Based on that knowledge, I can't see todays PC world taking a liking to them. I mean it's a matter of time before OSH decides that they're a health hazard :(.
-AFG frozencore October 28th, 2007, 08:10 I heard that they were making an airbrush and I was like "whatever." Now you tell me it will look like a flamer and am I'm all like, "Hell Yeah."
Still have no idea what a foundation ink could possibly be, they seem fine the way they are...they ink...things. Not much more I could want out of them. FabricatorGeneralMike October 28th, 2007, 22:35 Great find on the GW airbrush, as I am looking into getting one. Now the question is will they also sell the compressor or just the brush? And foundation inks....hummm the paints are great especially the mechrite red ( my Adeptus Mechanicus baneblade looks awsome BTW .. ;) ) Zarlok Lyder October 29th, 2007, 14:57 Is it possible that the inks are to be used with the airbrush - like pre thinned down basecoat paint? As you have to thin down normal GW paint to use in an airbrush? Great minds think alike. I was about to say the same thing :rofl Homer S October 29th, 2007, 16:56 I think the Foundation Inks will be more like the "magic washes" people talk about. Designed to either stain/blend like a glaze or shade like a wash. Ready to go out of the pot so that you don't have to experiment to get the effect you want.
I like the Foundation Paints for basecoats, just add about 1/2 to 2/3 the water on your palette that you would add to a Citadel Paint and away you go. They have to be well mixed or they tend to misbehave.
Homer Out nillic October 29th, 2007, 20:01 daemon codex in april!? SWEET
i love you Lord of Dawn October 30th, 2007, 23:57 you realize what this means, airbrush that looks like a hand flamer, you could fill it with gasoline and put a lighter at the front.... and make a real flame thrower..lol , dont actually try that. the foundation inks sound cool, but are probobly pointless.....
codecier, i disagree with you, although the airbrush is more likely to blow up in your hands than actually work as a flamethrower, i say we DO burn heretics, GW been begging us to do so for so long ( Goerge W (GW..oy yeah) bush is really an uptight inquisitor that thinks muslims are servants of khorne) . PURGE THE UNIVERSE WITH THE RIGHTOUS FLAME OF THE EMPORER
( totally just joking, although i was serious about the bush thing, dont actually try and do this, codecier is right, your more likely to kill yourself than hurt someone else) Blood_Blade October 31st, 2007, 03:32 My thoughts of what foundation inks could be: an ink to be applied over foundation paint to generate an exellent shadow effect and a good looking mini (in 2 steps).
Also, the airbrush sounds sweet... but I'll have to see it first. I toyed with the idea of getting an airbrush and decided against it. If the GW one looks exactly like a hand flamer, I may just get it though... | |
