Scroll down to the IA Apocalypse news. ^_^ SmokWawelski November 13th, 2007, 16:55 Interesting that they do not list Baneblade any more.... And as always, WH/DH got overlooked - how surprising thewineguy November 13th, 2007, 17:00 Interesting that they do not list Baneblade any more.... That's rough. But to be fair to GW (I know, I must be ill), FW really don't have that many Inquisitorial models for sale... I mean, the Inquisitorial Thunderhawk can use the regular Thunderhawk rules, IQ Valkyries/Vultures can use their IG counterparts...OK, so there are a few that could have found their way into the book, but really I'm not sure it would merit a whole other section for the Inquisition.
I hope you don't take this as me standing up for GW, or putting down people who play Inquisitorial armies; they DO need new 'Dexes, but I really don't think IA:Apoc would have been the best place to do it.
Cheers,
Mike SmokWawelski November 13th, 2007, 17:14 Yeah, but it would be nice to get a new model of any sorts from time to time, especially that WH/DH armies have so much potential for crazy, custom models... You'd think that FW would be all over this. But then again, not a lot of people play =][= so their market would be small... But then, not smaller than for their IG Gorgon and the Tau flying monstrosity (whatever the name of it is)... thewineguy November 13th, 2007, 17:19 Yeah, but it would be nice to get a new model of any sorts from time to time, especially that WH/DH armies have so much potential for crazy, custom models... I see your point, but I think FW are seeing this more as a chance to give us rules for what we already have, rather than preparing for what might come in the future. I mean, look at the Reaver Titan. We know that's coming fairly soon, and yet that isn't getting into IA:Apoc.
I guess what I'm trying to say is don't give up hope for new =][= models from FW just on the basis of what is, effectively, a summary book. Jared van Kell November 13th, 2007, 18:16 isn't this copyrighted material?
Not as far as I am aware. If it was the mods would have removed it from Warseer by now. JvK Inquisitor_Eljer November 13th, 2007, 19:31 On the subject of the Inquisition why no =][= specific conversions or upgrades of other existing vehicles?
Why don't they make a Heavy Immolator that removes all transport capacity in favor of +1 to the Front and Side armor and adds weapon sponson options of Heavy Bolter, Heavy Flamer or Multi-Melta?
Why don't they create a Super-Heavy variant of an Exorcist based on an existing platform? Give it a couple of structure points, make the launchers 1d6 long-barrelled linked blast templates (1d6 templates that must be touching when deployed). Give it weapon sponsons like above and call it good.
Add ANYTHING for the Grey Knights...jetbikes anyone?
So much wasted potential since I ONLY play the Inquisition. Maybe I'm winding down my 40k infatuation. Things to ponder...things to sell. SmokWawelski November 13th, 2007, 21:48 My friend wrote a letter to the gentleman who wrote the new Chaos Dex and got a response. Maybe we could write to FW and ask them what's up with the lack of love for the Inquisition :? I've sent them a couple questions via e-mail and their pat response is that they don't see a high volume in Inquisition related models. We can't even get love from the 'boutique' side of GW...wow! SmokWawelski November 14th, 2007, 03:56 Well, maybe if they were selling something more interesting than an overpriced Rhino-Repressor (point-wise and $$$-wise actually) and their own version of Immolator and Exorcist (which are inferior to GW originals) they would get more interest! Jeeez.... Zemaphore November 14th, 2007, 10:16 Not as far as I am aware. If it was the mods would have removed it from Warseer by now. JvK
mh, i guess so, it is cool it's going to be preserved though, so we can use them in the future! Zarahemna November 14th, 2007, 13:53 the power of friendliness. It never ceases to surprise me how far you can get if you are sympathetic and geuninely interested in a reply.
The folks at GW love two things, the hobby and making money. Neither on its own is sufficient to justify action in commercial terms. They can only ever cater to those things that we want, and when I say we I mean the majority of the cash spending GW fans. When you are willing to recognise the facts of commercial survival that affect all that happens at GW you are far more likely to receive and appreciate answers from the staff.
GW are flooded with 'good ideas'. So far they have been pretty good at deciding which of those ideas to follow into some sort of cvommercial success. After all unlike almost every other company in this business they are actually making some money from a relatively obscure hobby. Stormchaser November 14th, 2007, 14:02 I've spoken to a few GW people over the phone, and everytime, they have been really polite and helpful. However, when I have e-mailed FW, I've mostly recived unhelpful, unfriendly replies, or nothing at all! I work the phones in a cookware shop, and I'm proud of my good customer service, and I have to say that FW customer service sucks! They might have some =][= stuff in the works, but just can't be bothered to tell you about it. Cheredanine November 14th, 2007, 16:21 had to phone FW yesterday, they were polite and coureous, as ususal and (claimed to have) shipped me the correct part straight away Jared van Kell November 14th, 2007, 17:17 I guess it just comes down to whom yopu get over the phone at the time. I used to work in the callcentre business (Insurance anyone :rofl.) and I can say that even then people have their off days so if you do get grief when calling forege world then do not take it to heart. Despite this, if you do have a grievance for Heaven sake say something so that it can be dealt with. Cyric the Mad November 14th, 2007, 18:45 They've also been whining a bit lately about being behind schedule - really no excuse for neglecting customer service, but I'm sure they're stressed.
Glad to see all of this being put into one book. The Imperial Armour books have been a point of displeasure for me for quite some time. Paying $50 for one of these books hurts much less when there are multiple uses for it. I might actually buy a Scorpion now. SmokWawelski November 14th, 2007, 22:13 Well, I have to give them that their latest models (whole DKoK range for example) are very nice, but this is not an excuse for the lack of love towards =][= :P | |
