quite obviosly i will stay back and pound the enemy with crossbows and soup (hotpot) until they are close at which point i will present the pikemen as a viable target and hopefully the enemy will take the bait and charg e is not i will shoot them until they do.

the captain on pegasus will go war machine hunting and take down any enemy shooters giving me dominance of the shooting phase.

the duelists are there purely to protect the flanks of the pikemen.

I think the hotpot is worthless. It's only str3, and has such a varience (esp in a small game) that you may never hit anything. I would get either a cannon (which can blow up chariots and big stuff if needed) or some heavy cav, or give your duelists pistols for the uber-shooty force. Remember with pistols they can jump in trees and shoot and then if charged, you can flee or stand and shoot and still get 2 attacks in hand to hand. I would give them musicians if you can as well, though that might not be worth the 20 points in such a small game.

i think buckero is right the hot pot is kind of point less as in 1000 points you will not face many ranked up units(unless playing goblins )so it would just scatter away.

also replace the two units of duelists with a unit of knights better flank protection.

nope - just one of anything. you'd be better off mounting the Paymaster on barded horse for the extra armor save. Brace of pistols might also help shooting stuff up and taking ranks down a notch.
