understanding kroot force make up is hard, since i've never seen one in action. What do you thinK? decent friendly list or potential tournament army (if they'd allow). it's 55 kroot and 10 hounds, with 4 of them with eviscerators and the godly master shaper.

It looks like a pretty solid list the only thing i would suggest is try to come up with enough points to give your hound squad and possible the vultures Blood of the Stalker this will give them a chance for a first turn assault. I personaly don't like tooling up the master shaper for assault because he still has a low save possible change your master shaper around and you can give those two squads BoTs.

Looks quite good to me, but I miss Hunters in your list.... I really likes Hunters and they have actually performed quite well for me in the past.

But well it is only 1000 pts so you can't really buy them without having to diss something else, which you shouldn't.

If you are planning on making it a 1500 pts list then get some Hunters

This army should work quite well for 1000 points.

Fast moving vultures for the lead, Slightly slower hounds for the 2nd wave (with the Master Shaper attached im guessing?) and the 2 standard squads for the final wave :)

Ive never used the Ork hybrid so i cant say how effective it is. But i imagine that T4 would GREATLY offset the amount of wounds you take and thus lessen your casualties.

I think you will miss the Hunters. But as was said. At 1000 points i can understand you not taking them :)

I cant think of anything i would do apart from maybe droping an evicerator in favor of a power weapon, pistol Shaper. Just to mix it up a little and make the list less "blad" if that makes sence? But thats all down to you :D

Good luck with it.

Well I actually like the fast reflex adaption the better - it is cheaper and way better when getting in cc - I4 is better than T4 imo

thanks for the help, misplaced my codex so i'll get back to you

ya i'm still thinking of wats better, T4 or I4? attacking same time as space marines or being harder to kill. i guess init is useless when ur being shot at but then again i could kill guard and spacys easier :(

i guess i could drop ork hybid for light reflexes and save on points, and get some blood stalker and maybe more hounds. but 2 questions: what if i can't infiltrate? and can shapers get it lightening reflexes?
wasnt thinking of the waves but that sounds nice :P

since he's the only one with a melta gun, i got him the inv sav so he doesnt die out while he handles with tanks my other squads cant be bothered with. is the sav still worth or?

ya, really dont wanna model tha many eviscerators so i guess a power wep pistol shaper would be nice. but to which shaper?

I find I4 better - since striking same time as SM is better imo

yes the shapers also have the adaption - they are kroots too...

well you only uses kroot mercs in battles in which you can infiltrate

and much cheaper :P

messing around with some points i squeezed in a hunter kindred, and gave the hounds BotS. the vultures have jump packs so they can miss out on it, kinda wanted them for a tactical assault role more than first turn stuff

the power weapon bolt pistol thing works nicely, because it save points, so does losing the mark on the MS (poor shaper, he'll be chopped up by guardsmen). gave the pistol/pw to the vultures.

then i guess it's rolle over and die if we can't infiltrate? since standerd games (i.e Vets night) at the GWS use scenarios determined from the codex, which is not nice if i suddenly wip out my tau because it's more convenient for my (like taking necrons for take and hold cause you know you would have the advantage)

thanks all for the help :rofl! 4 exams, a monologue and a project holds me back from actualy making a readable list and posting in, so i'll get back to you

Hurrah for the Kroot Community!
