on page 64 of the January WD, does anybody have any guesses on what the new "unknown" paint is? its in the same pot as the foundation paints, but has a black lid, and has a slight layer of residue or something on the top of the paint level. Quoting from the caption of it:

"What's this? Well we don't know, but we're told it may revolutionize the way you paint Citadel miniatures."

my guess is the new "foundation inks" that i've been hearing some rumors about..

That would be my guess, or perhaps a foundation White....hmmmm.

Yup, I imagine it's Foundation Inks. If they look like the Bottle but have a Black lid and some residual stuff, it sounds "Foundation Inkish"

In a similar vein- I've heard that the paints that come in the started boxes (Macragge and BFSP) are apparently foundation paints but include black, white and chainmail(ish). Anyone able to spread some more light on this? Foundation metallics, maybe?

I really have no idea what foundation inks will do, unless they already come with dish-washing fluid added.

I really hope they make a foundation white. It just doen't make sense not to, because while Astro Grey is nice, there are certain applications where white is just better. I mean they have what, like 6 different greys in the darn range, why not white???

of course you can always buy a pot of astro grey and mix lots of white into it, without loosing the foundation awesome coverage, but lightening it up a bunch.

Because white is a hard color to make well.

Yes, the new paint is foundation inks. What foundation inks are I have no idea, what's wrong with inks the way they are now? Do they need better coverage? Wouldn't that be against the point of inks?

Not that I know that much about inks (I've just started using them, but I'm liking them already) but this was almost exactly my first thought!

Maybe they do the opposite of foundation paints - they have less coverage...

Is that a foundation black, white and 'gunmetal'?

I thought they said they couldent do metallics at the moment for foundations because of the pigment differnce? i want foundation white too, im starting up black templars and it could really help.
