I have finally had some time to proxy and playtest chaos stuff! I am really liking the nature of BFG, except the lack of opponents....! Anyways, my questions are:

1.) Hows the ordinance wth this list?
2.) Enough "balance, ie. enough weap batts for eldar, etc.
3.) overall hitting ability?

4.) Also, do I have to include a warmaster? Can I settle for a single Lord? Can I go naked :D?

1) Not bad, 2 carriers is a decent amount of non-torpedo ordinance, and chaos dont do torpedoes :P. Personally I like the styx for its long ranged prow weapons batteries - good for shield stripping. It is a bit on the pricey side points wise though.

2) With a pair of carnages you arnt going to be totally outclassed by eldar, thats a LOT of batteries.

3) You certainly have some firepower in there, nice long ranged batteries with lance and attack craft support from the devastations, the idolators are nice as an little aside too.

4) Yes/Not as your fleet commander/Ask your opponent.

Good fleet.

Carnages & Devastations are excellent choices.

I like Infidels more as Idolators though.

Any thoughts on these lists?

Adding the Slaughters is a really good idea. Good ships as well. 3 Iconoclasts are nice, I like them but most people don't.

So far you have a real effective Chaos fleet:
2x Carnage
2x Devastation
2x Slaughter

But.... I dislike the Despoiler. I think it is too weak for its points (most people do). Pity, because the model is cool. I think it would be better to add the much better fast Battleship the Desolator.
Taking the Repulsive grand cruiser is also an idea but it may be a little too slow.

If you take the Desolator you have more room to add Infidel escorts. They will give you some handy torps.
