View Full Version : If 40k was real?

Boomer

If today, right now a space ship came down and revealed that earth is infact not the real earth
and the real date is the year 40,000 something and everyone on our world had to join the imperium and chose a job what would do?

Me, well first knowing what I know about the Imperium I would not be to happy to worship a corpse on a shiny chair. So I would most likely join a rebel faction and become a freedom fighter.
Well that’s till the space marines turn up were I would throw my rifle on the floor and suddenly remember how to be a loyal servant of the Imperium then I would most likely get a desk job in one of the terra based offices.
Living out the rest of my life in comfort and as far from any battlefield full of crazed alien warriors as I can be!

I would tag along with the Space Marines since the beginning...

And traitors who drop their weapons and promise allegiance to the Emperor of Mankind is just a corpse and doesn't know it yet... only without a weapon! :D

I would join the Adeptus Munitorium and force poor IG grunts to have their forms filled out in triplicate and notarized. Oh yeah, and have the commisars shoot them if they complain.

Ether Marines (Black Templar) or the one above.

Knowing what I know about the Imperium, the first thing I would do is join the Inquisition. Being above the law can be really comfortable.

Join the Ordo Xenos, seek to learn more about the Eldar and try to move to a craftworld (not likely). Failing that I'd claim that THEY are all heretics and try to maintain worship to god on earth. I'd probably end up as an arco-flagellant though.

Unfortunately you cant just decide to be a space marine. You would have to be a perfect example of the human specimen with a an extreme talent for butt kickin'. And even then you would have a hard time catching the attention of the... talent scouts.

As for a job... a political position I think.

If I couldn't I would just go and knock their door and enlist myself... ;Y

I agree with whoever said they would get a desk job on terra. I would do the same and stay as far away as possible from any sort of IG, Inquisitorial, or navy sort of position as I humanly could. I would sit at my desk saying "praise the Emperor" all day long to stay safe.

The world of 40k really sucks actually and thats the only way I think I could possible be safe at all from all the countless enemies of mankind, not to mention the enemies within.

Most likely I'd end up as a Adeptus Mechanicus Acolyte, most likely an Engiseer (Sp?). I know binary so they would probably induce me to protect their "secret" language.

Maybe from there become a toady, I mean henchman, I mean retinue of a Inquisitor.

When I grow up, I want to be a Tyranid Ripper.

I'd grab a mouthful of dirt and then run like hell towards the nearest pool of digestive juices and promptly dissolve.

If that where to happen the few warhammer fans will probably be hailed as the only worshippers on this planet!! We'll be the only ones saved from the =I= :P

But i'm afraid all chaos players are still going on the pyre!

at best youd be put in a penal legion at worst executed thats assuming you ended up facing a marine chapter that takes prisoners, what happens when if they sent someone like the flesh tearers?

Join the Ordo Xenos, seek to learn more about the Eldar and try to move to a craftworld (not likely).

eldar dislike and distrust humans. youd be dead

agreed the 40k universe is a very dark and horrible place, some worlds away from the imperium and the worse of it tithes can have an ok existence but places like terra are hive worlds and truly unpleasnant places to live, even those who live mundane lives are bogged down in its misery.

Me id join the guard, yeah its a horrible job but at least you get companions among your own men and a sense of belonging

We're allowed to pick? I figured the Imperium just would put us to work on whatever they felt like.

Yes, but terra is the least likely place to ever get attacked by the enemy. So I would put up with the crappiness that comes with living in a hiveworld. Either that or live on some peaceful agriworld that is far away from enemies while also not being a big target for enemy attackers/raiders.

And following the line of sillier suggested professions, I'd be a SERVOSKULL!!!!

lol, I've always wondered if that could happen :)

I myself would probably just go where ever i am put, but joining the Guard or PDF wouldnt pass my mind :)

But if 40k IS real, you best bloody hope the Imperials get here before any of the other Races do lol, or we is gonna go splat! ;? :X

As for the condition of this world, with Global Warming imminent and all that 'blah blah' we'd be screwed even if the Imperials turned up too, if any of you have (unfortunately) read Descent of Angles, you'll know what they did to the planet within weeks of arriving, meaning we'd go from how we are, to a Hive World in no time. Unless of course we get some nice treatment for being out of all our Natural Resources, and become an Agri World or some thing :) (no doubt the single appearance of an Imperial Shuttle will pass our Carbon Dioxide levels through the roof as it enters orbit! :rofl )

But im not 1 for saying no to the Emperor, so bring down the fun and let the party get started! :drinking: 8X :party2:

1st thing i'd do mind, is buy me a Laspistol!! 8X i want a Laspistol!

I'ld go for planetary govenor, a life of decadent pleasure- I'ld be dead before the proper tithe was determined.

Well this is a rather silly thread.

Anyways, I'd do anything that would get me away from the Imperium. Find a way to live on some Tau or Eldar world, perhaps.

E: Mabey chill with some Kroot or something.

I got ordained as a minister a while back, so unless I can convince them I'm faithful to the Emperor I'm dead, same goes for if they find my VC, DE, or Chaos armies. If I survive all that I'll probably wind up an =][='s assistant or preaching at you all rather loudly.

I would be a crazy techmarine librarian hybrid working for a chapter in pink power armour with a full command squad each off which is also a techmarine librarian.

go me.

Id give my soul to the Decever and live forever as a Pariah. All shall perish by the will of the C'tan, and by my blade. Mwahaha!

I would... erm... become a Warlord, no wait, EMPEROR titan Princeps. Hell yeah! :D
Or perhaps not.
I imagine that I could ship off to Necromunda and chill with the Gangs. I think I would make a nice House Esher reproduction-male. :)
Failing that, I'd be a mutant. Whacky claws for eyes, tongue, fingers, toes and hair-mutation here I come! Also, I get to look silly.

If all fail, I'll join the Guard sine my life is over anyways. ;)

You wouln't try to convince him that you are the real Deciever then?

Unfortunately I think anyone who uses a xenos or chaos army would go on the pyre...

But anyways I think the when the imperium firsts finds people they try to swap out their gods for the emperor
So imperial priests would barge into places and be like "God is the Emperor!" "What is this Buddha? There is only the Emperor!" etc. And if you argue, they slice you in half with their eviscerators

What would I be?... Probably an Ordo Xenos inquisitor, and live somewhere in the higher areas (aka the nicer parts) of Terra. (near) Unlimited authority plus having a battlefleet, Mars, the Grey Knights and malleus HQ, etc nearby to hide behind sounds good to me.

Defect to the tau, join the earth caste, and try and find a way to either beat or run away from the inevitable tyranid mass assault.

If I wasn't on the eastern fringe I would probably join the imperial navy.

I'd have to get over my shock that some weird spaceship had landed on earth and told me everything I'd known was a lie. xD After that ... not too sure. Being chucked into the loony bin or a desk job muttering politically-correct nonsense sounds good. =)

qsd has just made me realize what job I'd want. I'd enjoy being the planetary Ordo Sicarius Inquisitor. Seriously, there will probably never be an assassin deployed here, I'd have near unlimited authority, and if anything ever came up I could brush it off as not being my department. Genius!

I think that being an underground Slaanesh cultist could be fun till I am caught and put to death.

I would be driving either a) a baneblade b) a hammerhead c) Fire Prism. I'd be the world's greatest road pirate!(if that makes sense)

January 4th, 2008, 01:06
I'd find the nearest Slaaneshi cultist hideout, get blasted out of my mind, then OD on crazy Chaos drugs. Die a happy man.

Seriously, it's better than waiting for the Necrons, Traitor Legions, Dark Eldar, regular Eldar, Tau, Orks or (gods forbid) the Tyranids to come and rape your planet in the name of the C'tan/the Ruinous Powers/Fun/Not Fun, Honest/the Greater Good/Gork an' Mork/Lunch (circle whichever is appropriate). Or for the Marines or =][= to declare you all heretics and order Exterminatus. Or be conscripted into the Guard and die fighting slathering gribblies on a planet you've never heard of.

Unless you're a 7 foot superperson, an Ork, or a mindless cog in a merciless alien killing machine, the 40K universe kinda sucks.

Wishpoosh
January 4th, 2008, 01:13
I would love to be a Space Marine, but realistically I think the best, and I mean absolutely best i could hope for would be a low level Inquisitorial toady.

Oh wait, were all nerds to some degree here, I'm sure w/ our knowledge of computers and weapons manufacturing we could all get fine jobs on mars!

If 40k were real... I'd be dead...:D

(or at best a drooling servitor)

Warrior47
January 4th, 2008, 04:49
Wait, 40k's not real ;o

Well, I'm just a stealer in disguise anyway, so I suppose I'd whip a cult together and start signalling the hive.

Either that or join the Inquisition. I mean pretty much all the jobs there could be awesome. I could be a Deathwatch or a GK and be an uber marine, be an Inquisitor where I could do whatever I wanted and not even have to go to the front lines, or I could be an assassin and pwn all those losers that think they're tough :rofl

Koss
January 4th, 2008, 05:13
So great, be a sace marine: one hit from a plasma gun and you die a horrible horrible melty death... hence why it would suck to live in the 41st millenium

Dreidel
January 4th, 2008, 05:42
Adeptus Mechanicus all the way. Attempt to impart my knowledge and then get turned into a servitor, most likely. I don't think they'd like some new guy telling them about the laws of Physics and such.

Either that or I'd find the nearest Tzeentch cult and continue my quest for knowledge until Ahriman teleports in, takes our neat artifact, and leaves taking our best members (which I would hope to be part of) leaving the rest of us totally screwed when the =][= Ordo Hereticus =][= comes knocking at our door.

I'll be an Enginseer.
Failing that, Emperor of Mankind. That job is taken?
Uh, Tzeentch Champion maybe.. I dunno about growing feathers out my arse and having a tentacle shoot out my ears though..
