Lets be fair the necrons have been in need of an over haul since the fourth edition came out, with rumours of a fifth edition of the game floating around they need it even more. Both my local GW and independent stockist both say there will be a new necron codex soon with a fair amount of change.

The main rumour is of course that we'll be back is to be replaced with feel no pain. The rules are almost identical at the moment, however if they bring out a fifth edition then it may change. This is a good thing as it will stop the necrons running in combat due to casualties which will come back anyway, it makes the rule have an effect on the end of the game as well as when it came to the sixth turn it was a bit silly when there main rule had no effect when every last unit and rule is crucial.

Pariahs as well are meant to be a lot better and before you say "OH MY GOODNESS MORE POWER FULL THAN NO ARMOUR SAVE AT ALL IN COMBAT EVER", they are crap to as a one wound medium armour save model who is equal in intiative to a guardsman and can't move more that six inches a turn EVER oh yeah and they don't have we'll be back and you start to see them in a very different light.

Well thats all i know so far but as with all rumours take it with a pinch of salt, and if it does come out i wouldn't see it before the fifth edition if it does come out.

i find this very very unlikely, GW has so much more on the plate at the moment, why would they be realsesing new codexes (orks,Deamons) right on top of a new ed rule book meaning that there would then be problembs in the ed they have now.

This rumor has been around, and I'm sure it is in this section. I'm not quite sure on how much they need a redo (I can name at least 2 armies that need it more), and even with rulebook updates they are still extremely powerful.

If any codex needs an update it's the DE, necrons are still a solid army to play with even in 4th.
Don't count on seeing them soon as the next codex is deamons which will be around may it seems followed by either a new edition or another expansion so it leaves little room for the necron codex.

Aww not this again... this thread got huge last time. Im fairly confident that my precious Crons wont be updated and ruined for quite a while. They arent even in the list of rumored armies that are in line to be redone which is commonly thrown around. To be honest, i dont think 4th ed hurt us too much, and the rumors for 5th shouldnt be too painful either. Id say we have a good 3-4 years

Necrons dont need to be redone yet, what about Dark Eldar? I would also prefer to see Imperial Guard get done before 'Crons.

Flayed ones are getting something funky which i can't remember.

Pariahs are getting re-vamped like unholyheretic said.

Necrons are getting.. and i think this is ridiculous...... [FLEET OF FOOT] - STUPID

and all necrons are getting feel no pain.....

Sooooo.... 10 man Immortal unit that can Fleet and has 2 shots with rending.... mmmmm yummy.

Hmm.. not sure about some of those BT, thay are even more unfluffy than previous rumours lol. Fleet? If anything it will be Slow and Purposeful.
Also bear in mind rending is getting toned down in 5th ed, to auto wound (no save still im assuming) on a 6 to wound, instead of to hit (Like Gauss is now, only vs infantry too). So it wont be too overpowered, and dont forget, the costs of troops will be increasing with that.

If we loose WBB for FNP ill be very annoyed though... i hate the fact that GW are killing all the fluff from the armies (just look at chaos...) Though i think Pariahs should get FNP, that would work.

I just wish GW would actually listen to customers rather that just letting their own dull minded people go ahead and ruin things for everyone...

Brother Tiberius - if you want to set up a proper rumour thread with actual rumours and what not please go ahead :)

Otherwise, let's not turn this into a cesspit of opinions, bad spelling and postulating.
