In White Dwarf 337 (the January 2008 edition) three sketches are posted about the daemons codex, please excuse poor quality I took them with a web cam.

I did say there were three sketches one of them is inconsequential so I left it out

this seems very intresting to me, as the only pic of rules iv seen was 40k format.

I know I shouldn't listen to them, but my red-shirts say its only 40k, and that they're working on a new hordes book for fantasy.

The caption says something to the extent of "studio artists are working on new artwork". The picture published in the magazine could have been taken months ago when they were creating the High Elves book. Artist laid out some of his latest (or best) drawings on the table, camera guy rolled by, everyone smiled and that is probably what it was… For every artwork published there is probably dozens that never see light of day, so it proves absolutely nothing in terms of codices.

This artwork couldn't possibly be from the high elves book, there is only one constant in warhammer artwork in codices/army books and that is the army who "owns" the artwork is glorified, like, hordes of tyranids chrushing an IG strongpoint or an elite saurus warrior splitting an empire soldiers head in half. In a high elves book you would have pictures of scared high elves facing swarms of gargantuan daemons.

Yoou are right about dozens of artwork never reaching the production line, but a specific piece will never, EVER, get produced if it contains inaccurate information and the artists know this; they would never produce artwork for a daemons codex with high elves in it unless it was in a fantasy setting, unless the artist is doing it for his own amusement in his own time.

I mentioned this before in a few other threads, but nobodey really noticed. My sources have told me there will be a dual release that month for a warhammer armies book and a 40k codex for deamons in the near future.

Well, the Deamon preview models should give you some clue. The one's they showed were on the square bases of Fantasy, unlike the round 40k ones. Though this could equally show that they work for either range, I sincerely doubt they would show it if only a 40k book was in the making.
