View Full Version : My New Gang!

Ok, having been inspirered by the omnipresent Process (http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/members/process.html), i have started necromunda!

http://www.zemaphore.net/lo/lizzies.gif

I have already painted 1 ganger for this blossoming Escher gang dubbed "The Lizzies", pictures to come later!

The name "The Lizzies" comes from the great 1978 movie "the warriors"

My first ganger is named Shaniqua, she's my first attempt at painting african skin and she has pink hair, all my gangmembers will have differently colored hair: purple, light blue, orange, bright green! :D

The color scheme for the rest of the outfit is rotting flesh and scaly green (a really almost turquoise color).

All are standing (or are going to stand on) rusting iron slabs and junk.

Looking forward to seeing this, I've been thinking of picking up some Orlock models myself, if only to use as an Inquisitor's retinue.

Sounds good mate - the dull tones of the base should contrast well with the loud and vibrant colours of the gang members. You could also try and work some individuality into the costumes of the various models as well - hair colour is one thing but also think jewelry, pouches, tattoos etc.

Escher are a great gang to start with, and I'm very glad to see you've so far avoided naming them all after porn stars (I've seen several people do this). I'm interested to know what models you are using for the gang - the proper Necro ones or personal conversions? I used mainly Dark Elder and Dark Elf models for mine - lots of wych elves carrying shotguns (with ears trimmed to look more human) :)

Looking forward to seeing the models matey - I see too few newly painted Necromunda models online these days.

Rich.

Lol rp :) now why didn't I think of that :P

I named my gang after having seen the absolute classic movie "class of 1999" over and over again.

I still belive that "stabby" and "scissor kitty" are still alive from the original crew

I also have an Escher gang in a box somewhere. I must bring em out and see what state they are in. If i can come to the meet, I might bring em along.

Well, they are ordered, now i just gotta wait! :D Send them faster GW, FASTER! *shortens the send time by sheer mind power*

Names i came up with so far:

-Shaniqua
-Shotgun Shelly (an old name from my fallout (http://fallout.bethsoft.com/index.html) days - i named my character shotgun shelly 10 years ago :P )
-Elizabeth (my leader, the gang is named "the lizzies" for a reason!)

Nice. Are you going to run it as a semi map campaign? with named areas or just run it on paper with names such as "slagpit #1".

With all the tunnels and stuff you really can allow for running a map wiithout fixed venues of attack if you want to.

I was thinking that, i love the redemptionists, might make another gang based on them.

Its a good idea. Another good (and cheap!) one is to buy a box of cartachans - instant orlock gang with minimal conversion.

The new redemptionists are a nice bunch of models - Very tempted to get myself a few to be honest.

Well, i was thinking i might convert some bretonnians as juves. I don't really like the current mini skirted ones. And that catachan / orlock idea is good too, thanks!

Looking very good my friend. I especially like the ridiculously coloured hair! The base is also very nice - adds alot to the model.

Looking forward to seeing the rest mate.

I'm just so glad i ordered the bitz before they closed down bitz ordering, because it would've meant buying 8 random models, as it stands now, why gw, why...?

Well, i so enjoyed making the first i thought i'd do some more bases!

I thought of another name for a ganger: M.C.

That way one of my gangers will be named M.C. Escher, who was an artist from holland who made alot of cool drawings

I must say mate, those are some good looking models. Like the conversion work, and (as said before) I think the bases are great. Looking forward to seeing them painted.

Makes me want to break out my Escher gang and get a few games in.

That's some cool stuff. The bases are really cool - my gang finally received some sand after more than a decade without it!

I've just finished putting together an autocannon heavy for my Orlocks (ransoming for cash is a wonderful thing). It's not quite as impressive as that...the model started out as a heavy stubber guy more than a decade ago then picked up a plasma cannon and is now onto an autocannon (and a respray!). I'll get a piccy of him when he's painted.

In the last game with his heavy stubber he passed something like five ammo rolls ;o(and upped his BS as a result). I know with his shiny new toy he's going to fail the roll with his first shot...

Alright, here are the models, painted! Not too happy about the picture quality, will make some additional photos this afternoon with sun light (the green of the cloth is almost blue here, that's not good!)

Great job Zem. Really great job. I have been working more on terrain than the actual models. If you ever drop by sweden, bring those and we can have a proper gangwar :)
