Well, Having nearly finished my High Elf army, I am already looking to the next army I might get. Of them all the Lizardmen are highest on my list of potentials (something to do with my childhood obsession with dinosaurs I admit).

Anyone who has seen my High Elf lists will know that I am a huge fan of the magic phase. That, combined with how awesome the Slann model is made it a necessity for me to use one, and if you use a Slann you might as well go for the 2nd Generation in my opinion.

Anyways, here is what I am thinking for my next army.

2nd Generation Slann Mage Priest
Divine Plaque of Protection
Plaque of Tepok
Diadem of Power
BSB, Sun Standard of Chotec

Saurus Scar-Veteran
Great Weapon
Light Armor
Charm of the Jaguar Warrior
Blessed Spawning of Sotek
Blessed Spawning of Quetzl

15 Saurus Warriors
Champion, Standard

12 Skinks
Javelin and Shields

12 Skinks
Javelin and Shields

10 Skinks
Blowpipes
Scouts

4 Kroxigor
4 Kroxigor

4 Terradon Riders

16 Saurus Warriors
Champion, Standard
Blessed Spawning of Tlazcotl
Blessed Spawning of Quetzl

------------------------------------------
Total: 2,000 pts
Powerdice: 6 (up to 13)
Dispel Dice: 4 (up to 6)
------------------------------------------

I was actually pretty surpised that I got most of what I wanted in this list and that it came out to 2k exactly on the dot. The only thing I would have liked to get that I really couldnt was some Chameleon Skinks, and I'm not even sure if they are considered to be worth their points. Some Cold One Riders would have been nice too.

My only real worry is that I'm not sure I should try to find points for a scroll caddy or if my list is good as is.

I could also possibly drop a Krox from each unit and replace the scouting skinks with Chameleon Skinks and still have points left over for other things. I am thinking something along these lines.

2nd Generation Slann Mage Priest
Divine Plaque of Protection
Plaque of Tepok
Diadem of Power
BSB, Sun Standard of Chotec

Saurus Scar-Veteran
Great Weapon
Light Armor
Charm of the Jaguar Warrior
Blessed Spawning of Sotek
Blessed Spawning of Quetzl

15 Saurus Warriors
Champion, Standard

12 Skinks
Javelin and Shields

12 Skinks
Javelin and Shields

11 Skinks
Blowpipes

8 Chameleon Skinks

3 Kroxigor
3 Kroxigor

4 Terradon Riders

16 Saurus Warriors
Champion, Standard
Blessed Spawning of Tlazcotl
Blessed Spawning of Quetzl

------------------------------------------
Total: 2,000 pts
Powerdice: 6 (up to 13)
Dispel Dice: 4 (up to 6)
------------------------------------------

I'm not sure which is better, I almost feel that in this second list I am going way to heavily on the skinks.

Not a bad list, although I'm not a fan of the 15 Saurus unit. I'd try to find a way to beef that up to 20 if you can, or atleast 18.

I could do this in order to beef up the smaller saurus unit a bit. Drop the Blowpipe Skinks, beef the chameleon skinks up to 10, and add 3 saurus to the unit of 15. It would end up looking like this.

2nd Generation Slann Mage Priest
Divine Plaque of Protection
Plaque of Tepok
Diadem of Power
BSB, Sun Standard of Chotec

Saurus Scar-Veteran
Great Weapon
Light Armor
Charm of the Jaguar Warrior
Blessed Spawning of Sotek
Blessed Spawning of Quetzl

18 Saurus Warriors
Champion, Standard

12 Skinks
Javelin and Shields

12 Skinks
Javelin and Shields

10 Chameleon Skinks

3 Kroxigor
3 Kroxigor

4 Terradon Riders

16 Saurus Warriors
Champion, Standard
Blessed Spawning of Tlazcotl
Blessed Spawning of Quetzl

Strangely enough, every change I make to this list keeps coming out to 2k exactly, without me having to tweak anything.

Well, Thanks to some great advice from Spector and Littleblueman, I have revised my list somewhat. It is as follows

Tehemundi
2nd Generation
Divine Plaque of Protection
Plaque of Tepok
Diadem of Power
BSB, Sun Standard of Chotec

Itza-Gor
Great Weapon
Light Armor
Charm of the Jaguar Warrior
Blessed Spawning of Sotek

18 Saurus Warriors
Champion, Standard

12 Skinks
Javelin and Shields

12 Skinks
Javelin and Shields

11 Skinks
Blowpipes

10 Skinks
Blowpipes
Scouts

3 Kroxigor
3 Kroxigor

4 Terradon Riders:

16 Saurus Warriors:
Champion, Standard
Blessed Spawning of Tlazcotl

--------------------------------------------
Total: 2,000
Power Dice: 6 (Up to 8 with +1 dice per spell)
Dispel Dice: 4 (Up to 6)
--------------------------------------------

This is the list so far, I think it is pretty strong.

Merging this thread back with your other one to keep all the discussion in the same area. Also, the revised list does belong in the Army List forum and not the general area :P. -Spector

I like the look of the list and my suggestions are purely personal and not tactical in nature. I find that having 4 Krox in a unit rather than 3 is a better value than the points spent on the extra Krox. Meaning units of 4 Krox seems to get more bang per point than units of 3 Krox. Also I have trouble using my Terradons effectively and just end up using scouting skinks and JSOD to do the jobs that Terradons are usually sent to do. If it were my list I would probably take out the Terradons, increase the Krox to 4 each, reduce the Skinks to 10/unit, take out the standard. You could then add a Skink scroll caddy or a Salamander pack and play around with the skink numbers as needed. I find that the skink caddy will give you alot more play with using the diadem, allowing you to almost always get the extra dice for powering spells instead of dispelling them. Or if you fo the other way Salamanders are one of my favorite units.

As stated, I like the list as is and all suggestions are from a personal preference standpoint. Hopefully, it is at least something different to think about.

Looks like a strong list. I still shudder when I see saurus units with no musician, but hey, what can ya do! :)

yeah, I like full command on big units, however I just really didn't have the points. With Cold-Blooded, I deemed musicians to be the least necessary.

Hopefully the extra frontage on my unit of 18 and the Slann BSB in my guard unit will keep me from regretting that decision.
