I'm new to the game, but I imagine it's probably the monolith, followed by the landraider. I think hive tyrants are the biggest non-vehicles, or maybe bloodthirsters. So what are some of the largest models. Largest tanks? Largest characters/infantry?

P.S. Forgeworld stuff doesn't count.

Why?

The monolith I believe is one of the largest. But everyone already knows that.

He said, no Forge World. I would say the Monolith, or possibly the Nightbringer. Including FW, it is the Titan, with the Hive Tyrant in second place. The HT is 12" tall!! :o

The new Oliphant model for LotR is going to be huge. The pics of it in the April WD make it seem massive. But apart form that what everyone else said is right.

The hive tyrant isn't 12'' tall. That's his wingspan. I hope...

Shame his weapons loadout is retarded.

I think the largest forgeworld model is the thunderhawk and the mumakil is huge about the size of a monolith on top of a land raider i think it was

Yeah Thunderhawk was 19 inches long and 17 inches wide. The next biggest model was the Harridan. The Harridan was only a 2 inches shorter for the width and for the length.

The Hive Tyrant from Forge World is 12 inches with the wingspan.

Also, another cool model is the Scorpion Type2. It looks kickass. Here is a linky of it:

Actually, if you do some searching around on the internet, you can probably find some people who made a 40K scale Warlord Titan. It's for show purposes only, but it's still crazy. I'm also pretty sure that Mike Biasi was constructing a 40K scale Emperor class Titan for fun. If I find any pics I'll send the link.

I would imagine the largest model non-citadel, non-vehicle would be the new bloodthirster from forge world.

Now, this is a HUGE model....granted its scratch built, but damn! Say hello to a rudimentary Imperator Titan.

nice scratch-built titan that guy made.

There is a few pics I found that look kickass.

A scorpion-type Defiler: The Defiler (http://www.portent.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/2372/password//sort/1/cat/502/page/1)

Spider-type Defiler: Spider Defiler (http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=38879)

Bassie(Iron Warriors): The Bassie (http://www.portent.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/1953/password//sort/1/cat/502/page/3)

There you go. In my opinion I think what th bassie looks like from what the guy did is what a true bassie should look like. A tiny struture with just tank treads and a huge, long barrel to shoot at things at a far distance.

Actually, the guy who made that was the creator of the Armorcast titans.

btw, that scorpion defiler is kick ass!

well you said Forge World doesn't count, but you said nothing about Armour Cast.

the Armour Cast thunderhawk was made to the same dimensions but cast in white metal instead of resin, I think it weighs over 10kg ( 22 lbs )

In normal 40k, the monolith or land raider has to be the biggest. For 40k scratch built or customized, you should see the giant chaos cannon thing. I'm not sure where the pic was, but i found it on one of the threads here. It's the one with 6 LandRaiders fused together on the bottom, a platform on top, and a monolith on the platform with a giant cannon sticking out of it (which looks like a pipe in a way). About the scorpion defiler, where would those chaos people look out, there's no cock pit or anything! Or of it controlled itself, it still looks strange. The front part needs a head instead of the 6-missile launcher thing.

I'm curious to see this giant chaos cannon you speak of.

The defiler doesn't have a crew. It's possesed by a demon if I'm correct.
