Yes, I have finally finished my Phoenix Guard. It was about time that I did, because I had been working on them on and off since Christmas. The work has paid off though, because they are easily the best looking block of troops that I've painted.

I'm really proud of these guys. What do you think?

Next I'll be continuing converting then painting my swordmaster unit and painting my heroes and mages. After that, I'll have finished all the High Elves I have, so I'll probably be handing over cash for some more...

Very nice job mate, you obviously put a lot of effort into these guys and it shows. I also think you did an especially good job on the banner. If i was to add anything, i might give the gold and weapon metal a light ink wash (mixed with dishwashing detergent to stop it pooling), to add some shading.

Thanks for sharing!

Really solid paint job! Nice to see some Elves veering away from the traditional blues/greens.

Just one thing I thought I would mention - perhaps a tiny dot of white on some of the more prominent gems to simulate reflection - you don not need to do the whole transition/blending thing but the dot goes a long way to adding the illusion that you have!:D

That's a nice lookin' block of troops you got there. The banner in particular looks nice; the extra effort you've put in really shows. I might be inclined to add some shading if I were you but it's not particularly nesescary.
A note on gems: an ink wash might help them; it shades and shines.
