My fav way to run my lord is on a hippo with Virtue of conf and Guantlet of the duel and just fly around and challenge anything that moves;Y.

Normally i use brith sword of caracssonne...but i was considering using the Morningstar of Fracasse. On paper it sounds cool but im leery about its actual effectiveness. Anyone have any luck with this? My worry is that when i charge and challenge i typically kill what ever i challenge first round meaning they dont get to hit back so it seems lke it might be a waste of points.

My other thought was to just take a mundane lance and some magic armor instead....

Typicly, a problem with this is they may refuse your challenge and then you end up fighting a whole mess of enemies.

I'd say go with the Lance of Artois. Cheap and very useful.

My favorite character killer lord is:

Grail Vow, Virtue of Confidence, Lance of Artois, Grail Shield, Gauntlet of the Duel.

Look at it this way, MSoF CAN kill up to 100 pts from each character. If your opponent invested in a particularly nasty weapon they basically lose by default. Is it a gamble? Absolutely, but you can turn the tide, even a hero can, in fact thats where I suggest you leave MSoF on a hero type just because all it takes is one hit. Its a matter of taste. If your really looking to fine tune put the grail shield on your hippogryph. I wouldnt think to bring that many points in mount without it, for the wardsave of course. However, being on a hippogryph gives you those decent sustained s5 hits, so the morningstar might not be unpheaseable.
