My friends are talking about starting a BFG group, if only because BFG is cheaper than 40k, with also fewer models to paint. Here's my question, which fleet should I start. I'm considering Corsair Eldar, Craftworld Eldar, and Dark Eldar. Notice a theme?
What are the relative pros and cons of each fleet, assuming that I'm already predisposed towards using speed and maneuverability over durability and firepower?

Welcome to BFG,
Corsair Eldar are the best, ie most effective, of the 3. Use Nightshades and Hemlocks. A few Aconites to boost your batteries. Take the Void Stalker as soon as possible.
Stay away from Hellebores and too lesses extend from Solaris and Shadow cruisers.
Craftworld Eldar: best looking fleet in the game. Have some weaponary issues on the Dragonship, never take torps or Pulsars on them, you lose power. Thougher cruisers then Corsairs but more expensive fleet with no decent protection against batteries (daft). Shadowhunter escort neat but not necessary.
At high point games (+1500) a Flame of Asuryan is advices, awesome model, strong. Yet the needed Hero is very expensive.
Dark Eldar: mimic engines. Very strong first attack run but have no 'safety' move like the other two Eldar have. Still no good protection against batteries and such.

Since I got the most advice on Corsiar Eldar, they shall be the ones. I was really leaning towards them in the first place anyway. Here's my sample 500 point list:
2xArconite Squadron: 2x Arconites each.
Hemlock Squadron: 3x Hemlocks
Nightshade Squadron: 3x Nightshades
For 750 points, I'll add a prince and an Aurora. Thoughts?

my adivce to you would be the corsair fleet as they the best looking modles not to mention there move then move again with the speaicil wepon rules for pulars and batteries are great.
i am inclinded in my fleet to use mostly helmlocks and run by the enemy on straffing runs on lock on but only agist capital ships a 5 stron helm lock on average will cause aprox 7 hits due to rerolls i find and agist a curiser with 2 shield theres one crippled ship!
then use the 2nd movment to get into the curisers t to avoid return fire then to protect your helm lock straff use bombers to go on seek and destroy of frigets i find depends on the no of frigets and ampout of ordence my oppent can lunch to use one or 2 bomber markers per ship and or you can use the helm lock on non straffing runs to destory the frigets then go onto straffing runs on lock on but the rest of my ships and bult around elcipses and other ships capable of lunching craft and the hisghest capcity ship has my prince i find the battle ship to be a points sink and cant lunch ( the void) enough wves of ordence for my liking)
i go for lances as they can rip though armour 6 like tissue paper weres as batteries need a 6 to hit
night shades are great as they disrupt the formation of a battle fleet so u can make good your escape as the enemy flleet manourvers away from them to avoid taking damage
my advice is use lances to overwhelm aromour and shilds
trops to make and disrupt a pursuit
and bombers to seeks and destroy frigets or watever you like ( but dont be afraid of going in for one massive bomber strike on a enemy ship though)
my 750 fleet is
prince 1 rerolls
elclipse with the prince on board.
3 helm locks
3 helm locks
3 night shades
total 735
i use the 1st turn to send out 4 waves of fighters to contest the skies due the reroll abliy
ocas i send out 2 waves of pure fighters for this roll
then i send out only pure waves of bombers for hunting out enermy weaknesses
and the night shades will lunch at times torps to help overwhelm the turrents with a bomber strik in the same turn

Whoa, not a bad advice in all but what a lot of spelling mistakes... that aside I think the Craftworld fleet looks better!
Keep in mind that on Lock-On you cannot make a turn with your Hemlocks in the ordnance phase.
I think the torps are the best weapons the Eldar have. I guess your staring fleet mongooseo is good. Adding an Aurora is cooler then adding an Eclipse in my opinion.

yes i knew that with the helmlocks you cant turn again hence why you aline yourself well enough for the straff run in your prevous turn [but bewarned you need to aline yourself up well enough and take into account oopents ships drift and poss turns] so that your snd move with take you past to the rear of the ship uyouran agist into thier t zone
sorry about my bad grama and spelling but i am servly dyslixic

I was going for quantities of escorts to bulk up the overall firepower and durability of the fleet. The arconites were to be used to hunt escorts and sopt the occasional torpedo or bomber salvo. The hemlocks and nightshades were for large ships, and the aurora for the largest I'd find. The thousand point list adds in another aurora and a squadron of either hemlocks or nightshades, looking like:
Prince
2x Aurora
4x Arconites
6x Hemlocks
6x Nightshades
I wasn't planning on adding a cruiser until around 1250-1500 points, should I re-think this?
And what's so bad about the solaris? It looks like a decent ship.
