OK, working on my first Rhino for my SM army I just bought. First army, so be gentle..

How are you supposed to prime/paint the tank? Do you build it then prime, prime in pieces then assemble, some of both? If you assemble first, how do you paint the inside, or is it generally OK to leave it grey?

It has been years sense I have assembled a rhino haha.. but you assemble the whole thing first except for the hatch that is glued on the top of the hull if you wanna paint the inside. When you finish the interior you glue the top hatch to the hull then shut the door in the back and primer away.

I just leave the inside of mine grey plastic, I dont even bother painting the interior.

I just glue the doors on mine shut =). The interior modeling is, in my opinion, more for the option of making dioramas and display pieces than gaming pieces (also maybe I'm a little bit lazy...) The general advice is to build first and paint the model fully assembled, only leaving aside pieces that are simply impossible to paint built (which isn't anything on a rhino unless you do the interior.)

Plastic tank kits never go together perfectly. If you want a really good looking model you're going to have to trim and file and green stuff and reglue little spots to get it looking tight. Obviously you can't do this if it's already painted!

If I'd put as much care into building it initially and lining up the fenders on front as I subsequently did painting, it would be a far better model.

I agree with inquisitorAffe about the inside being display piece rather than a game piece,

In the past ive sprayed the model in its sprues then cut them out and tieded up the edges, that way i know every angle is covered.

OK, I'll assemble it tonight and see how it goes. It's really a razorback that I'm gonna set up as both since I'm short on models.

You should also have some amount of free gallery space here iirc
