Hey everyone!

Behold Skorne!

Took my time with these guys and used lots of new ideas - still not satisfied though. Have just brought a box of Praetorians and will paint them up before deciding if i want to strip these guys and start over.

They just seem a bit odd and i can't put my finger on it...maybe someone can see something that i have missed. ;?

They look very nice. Next time you paint reds I'd try highlighting with orange instead of red with white(this will make it pink). I just think that looks better

Yeh I know what you mean but I was trying to make them look "cool" (as in ice not as in The Fonz) and orange made them a bit warm I think maybe with the Praetorians I might try just shading and leaving the brightest points as red.

They look really good, I'd say.
The paint seems slightly thick, and quite glossy, but I guess this is simply a personal preference thing.
The titan's skin, especially, looks awesome.

I do agree with the Lord Adrianus about the 'pink' though, it isn't how I'd be highlighting them.
I would probably do a basecoat of Mechrite red (yay for foundations!), then a few thin coats of red gore. A wash of very thin black around the shaded areas, followed by highlighting by adding blood red.
Then, glaze a few times with red gore (for yet more depth), and blackline the borders.

That is how I will be approaching any Skorne I end up painting...

Yeh - unfortunately these were painted before I got my trollish protuberances on the Foundation Paints. I agree they are a bit glossy. A lot of this was from the glaze medium I used which was a first. In the future i probably would not bother and just glaze with watered inks and paint.

Hmmm the pinks i explained previously. I agree that not everyone does it that way"sigh" so unappreciated and hard done by...


The skin is actually my least favorite bit! Still on the plus side my first painting tip from the famous minus_t - I'll Sleep tonight!

Yeah I'm liking these. Pretty unique colour scheme I would say, but I agree with the others with their comments. Looking forward to seeing more from you!
