hey, I was bored and decided to see everyone's favorite tank! The Winning Tank will be honored as LO's Unofficial 40k Tank! Until the next poll, at least. THis does not include Titans, or any tank that does not have a profile in the current Codexes (Except for the Baneblade. It's special. :))

My favirite tank has to be the predator not partiularly because I like it but because I have at least one in almost every chaos or space marine list and have and more often then not I have 2. Its just a brilliant AT weapon that I use in almost evry game,

I have to say Whirlwind. The model looks amazing, its a shame the rules dont allow for Anti-Power armour, ah well.

IG Hellhound for best overall. A threat to MEQs, death personified to anything less, high accuracy, good armor, good price, scoring unit and goes in a Fast Attack slot so you don't have to skimp on the battle cannons!

With my vote thats 3 for the good ol Hammerhead.... gotta love that Rail Cannon...best tank in the game hands down. Especially with all the bells and whistles...:ninja:

Hmm... on the poll I voted Hammerhead... but personally I'm hesitantly going to say Immolator... what better way to purify humanity of its sins than with a massive flamethrower?

I know! He totally forgot that, and instead only conveniently remembered exactly 20 different tanks before he cut off. He also forgot whatever it is Orks stumble around in. As well as a couple of other Eldar bits.

And no love for the Exorcist. Sigh. But now I see that this has been mentioned. But that is where my vote would be.

I don't see how Piranhas, Sentinals and Dreadnoughts are tanks, (At least not in 40k terms.) but either way I have to say the Whirlwind.

I'm suprised that he could possibly forget the Eldar Falcon Grav tank as people are always complaining about it's holofields and skimmer fast movement. Personally I vote Falcon but poll-wise it's Fire Prism all the way. Small blast lascannon with longer range = Kiss your termies goodbye :ninja:.

Falcon grav tank, if you're keeping the running tally. Fire prism if your not.

The Defiler for the pure fact of the insane ammount of conversions that can come out of the kit.

Is this our favourite visually or effectively? Because I love the look of both the predator and the defiler but the defiler is way more useful in my opinion.

Defiler for me out of the things up there. I just like the whole idea of the vehicle and it's a pretty nice model. The soulgrinder looks a lil to... comical for me :D.

it can shoot on the fly (literally, it flies) 72" of ap1 railgun - it only inflicts penetrating hits, and itsself only takes glancing hits (if it moves. skimmer rules)
even the toughest av14 tanks only have half a chance against that s10 railgun.
but that's all just statistics. lets not forget how stylish it is

Umm, this is for both. Which is for YOU, your favorite vehicle in 40k. Not necessarily more effective, the coolest, the awesomest... basically, your favorite.

It has to be the Hammerhead for me. Having that thing unload at me would be absolutely terrifying. So to make that less likely, I sided with the Tau... :ninja3:

But to be honest, I think most of the tanks on that list (and some that aren't!) could have got my vote. The Space Marine and Eldar tanks have always looked awesome.

Leman Russ all the way. It's been in the GW fluff forever, it's got a simple design that fits in surprisingly well to the sci-fi setting, all around good for everything. And let's face it, it's one of those tanks that you know will be there with the crew to the bitter end.

The only sad part about that is that the end tends to be both bitter and frequent with the russ *sigh* hoorah for AV14 being almost no real protection.

I have to go with the Fire Prism because it is one of the "nearly invincible eldar skimmers." but honestly, everything shoots missiles or lasers, leave it to the eldar to do something even cooler! "and now I incinerate your marines with a massive blast of light" ooooo shivers 8X

Too many points on the field my friend... too many points. Very nice protection but too costy and a fire magnet! ;)

I only play necrons, and so I voted Monolith. It seems just as hard to kill as those pesk falcons and is such a great support unit.

My vote goes for the falcon. Drop the right upgrades and weapons on it,and it's one of the best vehicle choices in the game

Yeah, but its easy to make, a lot more advanced in fluff that it is ingame, and has a quite unneccessarily wide gun (110cm)

Also has that pretty sweet rhomboidal shape that makes WW1 tanks look so nice, has a power armour braking ordinance template and a trio of heavy machineguns.

Versatile, cheap and oh my is it effective.

I hardly ever see my Russes blow up unless it's the very end of a long and bloody battle (as it should be!). I had one get blown up first turn this week and I was floored, though they guy did roll three 6's back to back to back. I don't know where you get AV14 is no real protection. Maybe against a railgun, but I've seen my tanks hold their own against a hammerhead. I've only seen metla's and other such weapons get close to me a handful of times.

Gotta love the falcon. With the right equipment you have a lot of high strength AP ignoring shots and still move 12 inches to boot. Through in holofields and you ensure that your opponent will have to throw what ever they can and most likely just shake the thing.

It's gonna have to be Leman Russ for me. Tau stuff is pretty awesome looking, but don't have the same character as imperial tanks. Eldar tanks aren't quite as cool, although I dig the idea of a fire prism. Space marine stuff is alright, hell I use them, but they lack the Ordinance goodness of Leman Russes. Defilers are really, really cool - but I wouldn't class them as a tank (imo), and Monoliths aren't quite up there with IG. Why Leman Russ over Baneblade though? Baneblades are fantastic, but only in apocalypse - it'd be a clear win otherwise :)

In short, LRFTW.

It's beautiful model plus its very effective. Killing sometimes MC's in 1 turn,blowing up vehicles, instant killing whole unit of obliterators....
I know, sometimes it can do nothing or kill 1 ork per turn but I still love it:D
