Hi there everybody

I posted these a while back and only received one comment. I thought that it was better than that, so I am reposting, for more feedback, last time it was at the end of a long thread though.

Anyway I am pretty happy with how he came out, I still haven't mastered making the NMM look really reflective yet, any tips would be awesome but I won't be repainting him for a while just using them on other miniatures.

The freehand (swan in flames) in the corner of the cape isn't finished and I wasn't very happy with it when it was finished but otherwise I quite like it.

Thanks in advance

(Shameless self promotion in reposting this and if it's not allowed mod's feel free to delete the post.)

I think this is amazing! I can't paint like this.. I'll get there some day. I like the shading in the armor, and the pin striping on the cloak.. this looks very nice!

Looks very very good. Your right, it does deserve more than one post, so heres the second :P.

I really like the work you've done on the gems. I'd state little bits all over the model i like, but i'd be here all day.

Okay - the light balance makes it a bit hard to see all the good bits...I would love to see a pic that wasn't so washed out...

I like the general colour scheme and the freehand looks good. I must be missing the flame swan though - I see a swan but no flames in the last pic?

There is great definition on the scale mail- how did you do that?

Maybe bump the highlights on the gold up a bit more and give the gems a little extra reflection spot and gloss varnish to really bring them out?

Overall very nice!

That is some beautiful painting there. I really can't see anything that would need changing. Well done 8Y

Excellent work. I think the hair could stand some highlighting. But really, it's beautifully painted.

Thanks heaps for the positve responses everybody.

To answer some of the questions:

There is great definition on the scale mail- how did you do that?
It is a great miniature, so well defined anyway, the rest was taking a long time to do the scale mail.

I see a swan but no flames in the last pic?
You are quite right, the flames are on the one that I have, but I took the photo's before I had finished that bit. Should have mentioned it, as I said it didn't come out quite right.

I think the hair could stand some highlighting.
I think you are probably right there David, but I didn't want it too look like the metals so I underdid it a bit. There is a bit more shading than shows in the photo as well.
