I'm in the process of building a pirate dwarf army, after being inspired by a mixture of the Avatars of War Dwarf Thunderlord and images of the CSS Virginia. I've started work on my Pirate Dwarf Ironclad, but I'm stuck of a colour scheme

In order to make the cannon ports, I had to buy a dwarf cannon to make sure the holes were the right hight and size

I also used the dwarfs to try out a few colour schemes. Seeing as Pirates don't have uniforms, I was looking for something to ties the army together. I think I've decided on something like this:

Different coloured tunics etc, but a uniting trim.

Is this a quick colour block test or finished? I like the unifying yellow trim - and of the three I like the middle one best for the trim with the detailing but I like the brown of the third one for the colour. I think the blue and brown in the middle are too dark (unless they are not finished). What about trying a deep red or maybe a darkened version of Scaly Green?

I'm horrible a highlighting so while they're only a quick test they were also a chance for me to practice highlighting. The middle one is supposed to be wearing black robes. :0

Maybe it is just a shine thing then -:P It looks like a dark scorched brown to me.

Looks like various shades of brown with some muted reds and dark blue, and just the tinest bit of black.
