well as many may know I’ve been using a marching dwarf army for about a year straight and people are sadly starting to get wise, they make hidden deployments, have armies able to dance around my units and in general cause headaches for myself.
as such... I’m changing my pace and taking a step back to catch people off guard.

While the army keeps a significant combat element it’s pulled a switcher and gone from a combat semi hoard to a balanced list with a significant shooting presence (but not a gunline)
with a thane taking the place of the lord as a melee beat stick (who where NEAR as potent... but he has his advantages ;) ) and the battle standard has been dropped for a master engineer (against my own rules I admit, but as I said its for a change of pace) the overall army is different to what I normally choose to run.
The iron breakers have ROCKETED to the top of my list of dependable units list after scoring a succession of fantastic combats in a recent tourney (I didn't win any games... but still they did well). With the inclusion of an oath stone thane they should perform a lot better.
The master rune of flight + rune of cleaving combo is something I’ve been meaning to test out for a while now. a S5 auto hitting character sniping thrown weapon seems rather tasty to me and in the event that the iron breakers defeat everyone nearby after dropping their oath stone, the thane can still snipe at units within 12" ( passing mages anyone? ;) )
Comments are welcome and sought for.
