Okay, So I have this Mortifactor test marine, and he's coming out quite nicely, but I'm at a wall now.
I don't know what colour to do the sword. I don't think the standard yellow and black will fit with the Mortifactor theme, and I think there already is enough black and bone on the mini already.
So can I ask you guys for an opinion? I had thought a dark red might work, but wanted to see if you guys could give me anymore ideas.
Thanks.

Hi toastee
OK... im not very experienced and i dont know what Mortificators typically look like so feel free to shoot me if this is terrible but the green on the edges of the shoulder pads might look quite cool because it'll pick up the green. Dark red sound cool too... maybe red gore or scab red.... you could even do it with red and black stripes instead of yellow and black...
Hope that helps...

hazzbob: Mortifactors colours can be found here... Mortifactors - Lexicanum (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Mortifactors)
I think a dark red would work, and might also fit into the theme of them, as red is the colour of blood, which like I say, fits into their fluff a bit. Especially since their chaplains where dark red armour.
I guess I can always give it a try and if it doesn't work I can paint it black again and start over... just don't want to waste time I guess *grin*

OK, so you've already done it now, but what about a really dark red? As in black highlighted with red; highlight the edges with a 1:1 mix of chaos black and scab red, then scab red and finish off with a little blood red. How does that sound?

HAHAHAA I AM SLIGHTLY MERRY! And have just come back from seeing Sonata Arctica.... AWESOME!
But that has nothing to do with this, still, I think you should all know that xD
Thanks for the comments guys :)
Aye, I have done for the red, just normal red gore... or scab... I can't remember tbh.. but either way it has turned out quite nice.
I had thought about a green to go with the company colours but in the end, I didn't think that green was bad ass enough for a weapon of death, so the red it was to be. :)
