Librarium-Online Vassel Tournament

Greeting competators and and players, and people that are just browsing. Welcome to Librarium Online's 40k Vassel tournament. Some other forums out there have their own tournaments so why not us?

This tournament will most likely be a round robin tournament. This is where everyone has a chance to face anyone. The top half with the highest score would make it to the next round. And it would go on until we have a winner. Depending on the number of people we might just say that the bottom 2 people gets the boot( not trying to be harsh or anything)

I've decided that this tournament would be a 1500 point tournament. I'll alow points to be no more than 5 points over. As from pretty much every tournament, you can only use one list so make sure it's capable in tanking out anything. I've also decided for the sake of our newer players, we will only use gamma rules just to make things a bit easier. Games would be used with the mission randomizer( good way to learn new things).

I am thinking of creating like 3 or 6 maps so we don't have to a) use their maps, good for people who arn't familiar with the maps so the more experience ones won't have that advantage and b) it won't take forever to make your own. maps would be selected by rolling a dice.

I can understand that people have to leave so sudden, or if Vassal decides to be a dork, but anyways if that happens then relax, simply save the game( if you can) and just get contact to finish up a game.

Finally, I hope this thing can get started next week if we have enough players. If we can get 6 players next wekk then I'll think we'll start. I don't want to wait for too long and

Ahh 4 people, that's a good start. Hmm I kinda wanted at least 8 people but if we can get 6, maybe 1 - 3 more people then we'll start. As of right now i'm writing up rules and that for the tournament. Stay aleart guys and don't die on me ;).

Hmm maybe I should answer these first eh?

Player will be paired off by random drawing, if there happens to be an odd number then the player not drawed will have to sit out that round.

Points? Not sure what your saying there, can you clarify what your saying there please?

Places would be decided like this( with the same points):

Even people: players would be put in a match randomly and the loser would lose the point that the earned.

Odd people: The last person who doesn't get drawed will face a random opponet lower than the person's score. Here's the interesting thing: If the higher person wins, he keeps the point, if he loses then he loses the point. IF the lower guys loses, he stays normal. If (S)HE wins than the player would actually gain a point. If there's no lower person then the player would stay the same score( not sure how else I would do it)

A round would last until all the matches have been declared a winner. The players have 7 days to make it to a game once the game has been declared. If the player who doesn't show up doesn't make it in 7 those 7 days. They would forfiet that match.

Try not to wait too long to make the game. It'll hold up everyone else :).

Basically every race is legal that Games Workshop has put out, the latest edition. Since this tournament is going to start before the Deamons come out, that won't be legal. This includes Dark Eldar, Imperial Guard and all the abilities that they can get. Space Marines with traits etc.

Edit: Well I got 6 maps done but I'm thinking that it would be easier just for you guys to decide on a map. I can only open it up on Vassal but whatever, do your own map. If I'm there during a game then we can roll for a map if you want.

Yes, we'll use the one similar to the UK GT.

You will get 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a lose.

They are "all files". I can't save them under something else. YOu would have to meet me on Vassal so I can show you. Sorry.

Okay, here's how things will go, everyone should create a 1500 point list and PM it to me by Friday. Now just to make things fair adn to prove that I'm not cheating everyone, once you PM me your list, I'll PM you mine. I don't have anybody working on this tourny with me, so I hope that I can trust you all. I'm hoping that we can start this by next saturday, once I get everyone's list. If I don't get your list by Saturday, I'll assume that your not taking part of this, on;y becuase I don't want to hold this thing up, that way I can get the rounds up.

By the way, It's still not too late to join. Just create a 1500 tourny list and PM it to me. The more people, the better the tournament would be.

just installed vassal and the 40k module and played my first game (i won!),i have a 1500 points tau list, the same i use in real life,so if anyone want's to take part in the tournament i'm ready to play a game with you

Hmm I'm not sure if this tournaments's going to work out Svalene, I have 3 people in so far( inluding me). I'm wondering if people are avoiding my tournament becuase a) it's not good looking, b) some of my rules looks like an advantage for me( which I hope that's not the case) or c) it;s run by a person less than 200 posts( which I REALLY hope that's not the case)

The Tournament will now be a single elimination. Just so we dont lose interest early on int eh tournament.

I might be in, however, I need to know when this tournament is. Is it a everyone plays games on one day type of thing, or are we playing games catch as catch can over a week, or are there assigned timeslots for matches? I've read through the posts and wasn't quite able to figure that out. And if is a big factor in whether I'm in or not.

I know, the tournament has major turns of events. It actually kinda bugs me in some ways. Anyways I'm thinking that I'm going to give around 1-2 week for people to play their rounds. I'll post the matches and once your finished then the winner can PM the results. If it's a draw then you can have a rematch or decide who should continue( but a rematch would be a better idea)

As I said to omgitsduane, this thing has been into chaos for a while since this tourny has been throguth 3 "servers outs". Everyone has been posting their list( after I said not too) and now it's kinda late to take back the lists. I know it's a bad thing to say but it's really the only defense I got :P.

I'm going to hold the registration until Sunday only because of the downtime we suffered though. The missing forums problem didn't affect this part though so it's cool from that.

And thanks for the compliment Pickle, but I'm hoping that we can finish this tournament( although I doubt we're really going to finish it, seeing that things like that happen all the time)

after I sent that PM I realised it wasn't the elites I wanted, stupid brain-fart I had, but oh well I think possessed will do fine even if a little overpriced.

Nathan's not the one in charge of updating the 40k module, that's being done by the vassal group. Chances are the mod is about 2 months away or so from what I last heard. Until then you can just use other sprites and label them to count as.

@paul: It doesn't matter what you play. You can play whatever you want. It seems like that nobody will be using nids or necrons... unless I can get deciever in. Which I doubt he will :P.

Once we get one more person( and the list from others) then we can start this thing. I'm aiming that this will be the first tourny that actually gets finished :P

I'm still in, although serious HSC study will kick in come October so that is going to interfere. All my exams finish 31st October though.

Im still here. After playing some games with the daemons i notice that my list is......not how i now run them, if i can change my list, awsome, If i cant, oh well.

maybe it would be easier to add everyone else to msn? or something we could work out to have contact with each other because I'm not on LO constantly either.
