ok these days i see many many people with the veteran status,i thought it was something to do with how long you've been part of LO, but i just realized some of the people with veteran status have less posts than me and have only joined LO in 2007 when i joined in 2005....so i would like to know how i can acquire that status.thanks

If I remember correctly, its a pay-per-month thing. Its like $4 per month and you get some added bonuses that would wouldn't normally have.

:) yes, please send me your bank details :)

or rather no, the veteran status is, I believe, assigned to those users who were members of the enhanced group prior to the removal of that group and the priveledges it carried

and what exactly were the requirements for being in this enhanced group, cause when i see people with barely 200 hundred posts who joined 6 month ago with veteran it doesn't seem fair some people can't become veteran now because they simply didn't know that enhanced status existed back then

If you pay you are a subscriber, and get a nice yellow bar and some other privelages.

Veteran status, on the other hand, is as Cheredanine said, was given to everybody who was enhanced before Blackhat removed the enhanced system. At the moment there is no way for somebody who doesn't have veteran status to achieve it, but it doesn't grant any privelages like being a subscriber does. The only difference between a veteran and a non veteran member is the grey bar under the avatar.

Edit:

The old enhanced requirements were 100 rep points and either 60 days on the forum or 250 posts. It was quite easy for some people to become enhanced by perhaps posting some pictures of their well painted minis and getting a lot of rep for that, making them enhanced really quickly. I remember it took me about 9 months to achieve enhanced.

As per Ang Svalene, the vet title is not attainable, the criteria for being a vet was to be a member of the enhanced at the time that groups was shelved.
the requirement for enhanced is no longer in use so is mute but was based from memory on time on board, number of posts and possibly the ammount of rep one had.

I do see that it can cause issues, ("Why am I not a vet? I have been here longer than him, have posted more and have a higher rep") and think therefore you may have a point, you need to point this out (poltiley) to Blackhat (the landlord) who will, I am sure, take it under advisement.

For my money, rep has always been a better indicator of contribution anyway

regards
Chered

Just one quick thing. Enhanced status occured automatically as soon as you fitted the criteria, so it didn't matter whether you knew about it or not :)

I'm a veteran, but I havn't paid for any extras I think maybe its after 500 posts or maybe a larger number? I reached 500 ages ago and didn't even notice I was veteran for some time. I'm sure someone has an actual answer for you.

It's already been answered in this thread!>.< All the veteran status means is "I used to be in the enhanced usergroup". Nothing more.
