I have finally finished Chapter Master Daceus! He is one of my bigger conversions, and I'm just glad it worked. You may find some unpainted picutes here (http://www.40k.tenzone.org.uk/daceus.html).

not bad at all..

the pictures are slightly blurry, so it's hard to make out some detail, but from what i can see, i have two points

-water down your paints more, it looks thick and rough
-the base looks a little too 'busy' for the size of the mini, and it could probably do with out some rubble.
other than that, nice model overall

After seeing the conversion work that went into this, I am more impressed with how you took this model and made it so much more than the pieces it came with. Good work!

I really like what the cloak became after adding the GS.

One question: what is with all the Inquisitorial icons? Is that part of the fluff, or just cause you liked them?

Bling bling! I can't pretend to like things in gold but that aside your paints look somewhat too thick but he's quite a nice piece overall.

Yes, it is part of the fluff... All captains in my chapter have to serve the =][= for a time, and they mark their armour to show they have done so. And I liked them.

I know the paint looks too thick, even though I watered them down. It's because when I was putting plasticard spacers in his legs (truescaling), I then had to file the plasticard down to his legs, so the surface seemd smooth, but I went too far and had to repair it with GS, which didn't quite work. So I am saying that it wasn't the fault of my paints, but my filing.
Excuse said.

Well, he is the Chapter Master, and I wanted him to have Artificer Armour, and stand out, so, the easiest way to do both of those things was to paint him gold.

And the base is in fact less busy than some other bases I have made, though I can probably get rid of the large strut behind him.
Thanks for your comments.
