The first picture is the best IMHO...
I like very much the bronze painting and the lighting effects you have made! Well done... can't wait to see the engineer!

I think that gren glow that falls on the cannon's frame at the bottom could be a bit weaker and more transparent. Now it sometimes gives the impression that something's spilled. Also, you could maybe make the edges softer and more gradually decrease the light intensity as it goes outwards. But who am I to talk...
Overall, great job. How did you do the bronze? And wood? I'm gonna be doin some wood soon, I need ideas, I like your wood...umm...yeah...
[EDIT] What I'm talking about is PIC1 in your original post. I just took a look at the 2nd pic, the other side of the cannon and the light looks a lot better to me there, the edges are softer.

You are right about the light on the frame I went a little overboard I'll see if I can do anything to lessen it a bit.
For the bronze I just painted it dwarf bronze and then used brown ink over that.
I painted this thing a while ago so I don't remember exactly what I did for the wood but i think it was:
base coat Scorched Brown then heavy dry brush of Bestial Brown and a light dry brush of Snakebite Leather.
For other wood I've done Scorched Brown then dry brush Vermin Brown.
